Ok next problem on my to do list i get the power steering fluid warning on start up I may be checking the wrong place for fluid level the tank beside the screen wash it looks about 3/4 full is this right or do i need to add more or is there something else wrong such as faulty sensor. This may be explained in the hand bok but I didnt get one with the car but one will be sourced when I get the chance (anyone got one for sale?)

Cheers in advance

Sounds like you are looking at the hydraulic fluid tank for the rear suspension.
The power steering fluid is to the left of it near the fan belt, probably a small black plastic square tank with a screw cap on it. Remove the cap and you will see a dipstick to check the level.

W210s have a single nylon central hydraulic reservoir that supplies both the power steering and the self-levelling suspension. It is behind the washer reservoir, and has a black filler cap with a reinforced hose going to it. There should be max and min level marks on the front of the reservoir.

I'm going to get a pic of this tonight as I'm s but confused by the differing posts the tank gas a screw cap and a black rubber nob with a dip stick and it's reading 3/4 full but can't see a sensor sticking out of the tank. Would this be affected by a low batt as other warning messages I have could be from the this?

There is no confusion...post 3 is correct. Post 2 does not take into account you have the estate like me and E55BOF.

ok i would say its to the right of the washer bottles but thats just being picky lol well it is def filled between the max and min levels so at least I was looking in the right place. So the next question is where is the sensor and how would I check it is functioning before I try and find a mystery wiring fault

After some Google searching it seems the sensor is under the car at the back end but can't seem to get a pic or any info on replacing it?
