Hi guys, I've got a 1997 W210 saloon in mint condition. Mines as you know has not got the plastic sill covers.

I have managed to get a good pair that need painting, but I have not been sent all the fitting clips etc.

Does anyone have a diagram PDF doc etc that they can send me showing fitting and part numbers etc. Don't want to start ripping off existing plastic trim from sill top, sill bottom, wing until I've sourced all the parts for covers.

Any help and advice most appreciated

As i said any help most welcome;)

Hi,
I have looked into fitting C36 skirts to my car and bought all the fixtures and fittings to do this to my C230K 97.
The E class should be the same or very similar, you will need to buy adhesive strips which fix the sill covers where they lap into the door shuts, underneath they the sills are fitted by plastic threaded inserts which sit in the metal work under the car, and with plastic screws fix the sill covers on with screws, where the covers lapp to the body work they are fixed with a heavy duty type of velcro, and trim strips to tidy up it up.

Hi Andy, thanks for your reply:)

Mine at the moments is original black painted and there is a plastic trim at the top of the sill, were the door shuts only see it when doors are open and it looks as it is clipped in???

Also where the front wing meets the sill there is a plastic joint which fits between the wing and the sill (T Piece). At the rear wheel arch there is also a plastic trim that fits between the arch and sill (T piece I think but not sure!!!!) and underneath the sill there is a plastic trim/plate that runs the length of the sill from front to back which is bolted on (hope you can picture what I'm saying). All this will have to be removed to accept the new sill covers. I'll have to get the covers painted as my car is met green and the covers I;ve got are met blue. How much did merc charge for fitting kit? quite sure it was painfull!!!!!!

Cheers Alan
