I have a 1998 E430 and have managed to get a set of folding and blinking mirrors. Removing and replacing them is no problem, neither is the wiring of the indicator signal.

I am looking for any help with the connectors, part numbers, wiring configuration etc etc........... If anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.

Are your existing mirrors folding ? If so, might just be a question of changing the connectors, and wiring up the blinking (very simple). If not folding at the moment, fair bit more work required !

OK - this is good news.

Having only done this on my W202, I don't know whether connectors are the same on pre/post facelift W210.

My mirrors came from MBenzNL with the facelift 210 connectors on the mirrors already swapped for 202 connectors - so it was plug & play. I just had to wire up the blinking. A pic of the connectors on your new and old mirrors would help.

S.

**EDIT** If your existing connectors are the same as 202 connectors, then you could just sabotage them, and I can tell you what wires from the new mirrors to connect up to where - alternatively, you can order the parts for 202 mirror side connectors & pins, cut the existing connectors of your new mirrors, and wire up accordingly.

I'll take one of mine off tomorrow, and have a look at the wires / pin numbers etc.

Guys

pin outs on the w210 mirror

the connector at the mirro is numbered...

1 & 2 are heated glass
3, 4 and 5 are for mirror adjusting

1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 sit in the exact same order as the wires in the oldstyle mirror sit (as in black-red...brown...and then the grey/white/black)

6 and 7 are always colored (black-white and brown) and are for the blinker

8 is empty

9, 10, 11 & 12 are memory - you don't need those

13 & 14 are folding (green and yellow)

15 & 16 are dimming (pink-black & pink-red)

Thanks Alps/Sym.

Do you have the part number for the connectors and pins?

Which end would you recommend changing (mirror or car)?

Is it a straight pin swap between old and new ( pin 1 on old goes to pin 1 on new) ?

I do have memory, is this still going to work?

Thanks for your help.

you are better doing the wiring change from the old mirrors, otherwise you will need to solder pins, and it is extremely fiddly.#

mirror side is always best

Agree with Alps - all the pins needed should already be wired in the old mirror connectors, so no need for new connectors - just solder the wires from the old connectors, to the new mirrors (hopefully the colour coding is the same !)

Thanks Guys,

The old connectors and the new connectors are totally different, even the pins themselves are different. The wiring colours are also very different.

I will try and take a couple of photos and post them here.

Thanks

PS does anyone know the part number for the connector?

yep they may be different, but easy to follow which wire goes where!

theres 3 part # for each conenctor( car and mirror side) and you`d have to solder the pins on!

Hi Alps,

Is it as simple as, pin 1 on old, goes to pin one on new, or shall I trace the function of each wire through the mirror.

Do you have the part numbers for the pins and the connectors, as I don't want to cut of my old mirrors as I plan to sell them.

Thanks

pin to pin, as described earlier here!

Thanks guys,

I'll get the connectors and pins on order today and have a go at changing them this week.

Ta :)

remember

theres 2 connectors, square connector, and the round connector, 2 types of pins also.

No surprise MB can't help me with the part numbers for the connectors and pins. Does anyone have the part numbers for the w210 1998 (pre facelift) wing mirror connector and pins. The part that is actually connected to the mirror (female).

thanks

I'm also in the midst of this mod. I've got the part no for the round connectors but the rectangle connectors given are the female ones, I'm trying to get the male ones. PM me to compare notes.

Please try this one,

rectangle mirror side plug
