After my S211 was written off last week I've removed the media system from it. It is an OEM style system with FM/AM radio, DVD, TV, Navigation, Bluetooth, SD card, iPod, USB and multiple video/aux interfaces. The screen is unmarked and it works flawlessly, including the adapter for wheel controls. The mapping is Sygic, covering all of Europe and supports UK postcodes. It has been a great system, and a vast improvement on the original Comand system. I used it with a DAB adapter (not included).

I bought it 12 months ago for £400 from TTints in Luton so support is available if needed. Installation is easy plug-and-play and totally bypasses the Mercedes fibre system, but does plug into the amp so sound is good. Everything is in the original box, including the instructions and all leads.

Looking for £175 posted or collect frorm SO32 area (J7 of M27). I'll throw in a Brodit phone mounting clip, fits above the RHS air vent by the A pillar.

Hi there
Does in work with the Harman Kardon Command set up? I thought it was a difficult wiring set up?
What Model is this? I wanted to look it up and check out the details a little more.
What years maps does it have on it? Can they be updated easily?
Ummmm.....
Thanks,
David

David, It was fitted into a 2003 E320CDi, originally fitted with the COMAND-APS NTG1 system - not the HK version. I had a dead nav processor, so wanted working, up to date nav with proper UK support, plus Bluetooth so it was a perfect fix. The maps are 2014 and can be upgraded online to the SD card from Sygic, or cheaper via TTints.

Hi Max
what make & model is it as you only state OEM style?

How much is the dab adapter? I assume you need a different aerial as well?
Does the multi cd player still operate with it? Thanks

I used a CKO DAB adapter, which is now in my new car. They are around £100 and connect via one of the AV inputs. After trying a cheap stick-on aerial I drilled the roof and fitted a decent dual-mode aerial and rarely had any reception problems. A decent OEM-type window aerial may be good enough and I'll soon find out when I set up the system in my new car.

Will my phone work via this?
And is it a simple/direct swap for my original unit ?

Hi, if you don't have the Harman Kardon system, then it will fit with no modifications. The Bluetooth is good and worked will all my phones. It is a simple fit - the hardest part is runnning the cable to the boot of the car but it can be fed under the carpets to same removing seats. I ran the GPS receiver on the dash just behind the windscreen with all wires tucked out of the way. Everything plugs into the Mercedes loom and it only fits one way so you shouldn't have any issues.

Now sold.
