E280 cdi sport 2007
Need some new brakes upfront , looking at mintex anybody tried them.
ECP are selling pagid but wanted to try something diffrent.
Also cheapest place for mintex anyone....

TIA

Get them from Merc. Ask if they will price-match. You may be surprised.

Why buy suspicious rubbish when you can get the real thing. It's only your brakes after all :(

Mine's got Mintex. There isn't much bite but they seem to last forever. Will go back to Merc when the eventually need replacing.

Bought genuine as it was about a tenner in it from them to mid range non oem. V surprised, as 320cdi av spec is pretty big.

Around 190 from merc
Pagid set up 100:bannana:

I paid £159 for a genuine pads and discs for my e280 cdi sport :)

Pagid Disks and Textar pads are a reasonable combination, textar and pagid are part of same company, TMD friction. But textar is their premium range, pagid mid range.

Buy from MB, you know you'll get the correct spec and assured quality.

I tried Pagid pads and discs for my E55K.... the pads were so bad that I had them replaced with Merc ones a week later. Discs have been pretty good, so it may be that if you want to save on pads go for the Textar.
Worth noting the garage (Independent) had a nightmare trying to fit the wear sensors to the Pagid pads... I will be following their advice next time and getting Merc parts on a price match.

Stick with OEM... I have had too many bad experiences with motor factor parts.

Parts failing, misfiring parts, etc...

I would concur with this!

I have limited experience swapping out parts myself but a pattern clutch and non-OEM wipers come to mind as being shyte.

New parts fitted but warning still on dash!
Does this have to be reset via diagnostics?

Probably the brake wear sensors. They should be replaced every time pads/discs are changed.

What exactly does the warning on the cluster say?
Brake pad wear. Or....
Service brake visit workshop?

If the later then its a failure of a different kind!

Says brake pad wear already had the dreaded service brake which resulted in New SBC

Then either a dicky sensor or loom to the sensor not reinstalled correctly in the past ( resulting in the loom chaffing and bringing on the light ).
That's my guess

just looked at the rear pads they are low as well, wondering if rears come with sensors, hence why warning still on screen.
TIA
