W211 E55s for sale

Perhaps we have slightly different systems - mine lowers and raises from comfort to sport and back again when stationary with the engine running.

It might be as someone said above - they are different cars to start with and you don't really want a massive ride height on the E55 at all.

Indeed I am. Same username on bmw5 and bimmerforums. :)

Here's the PH ad. :)
BMW : BMW E39 M5 facelift

(If I'm breaking any forum rules posting that, I'll copy and paste the text in here instead.)

Ah yes recognise the car now, i had mine up for sale too but just decided to keep it now

there's no interest in these at all or people want them for pennies

Yes mate. :)

Great cars, a bit more involving to drive than an E55 due to the manual box, the E55 is quicker- very similar to an E60 performance wise in a straight line and a more practical useable engine day to day because of the shedloads of torque, the E60 is better through the bends though.

Yes, there are two that I've got my eye on but I'm trying to haggle the prices down.

The advert is so poorly worded it makes me concerned about its authenticity!

No harm in picking up the phone though and having a chat with the seller, there does appear to be a landline number.

£8,500 for a 140,000 mile E55 - and this one is 'the higher version of E55' (WTF?)....

Can't see the sense in paying buttons for one of these cars, but, each to their own..

Looks...ok from the poor photos. I cant take pictures for toffee, but would have made a better effort for an eight and a half grand car.

Strange driving seat position. Was he looking to see if it had Pano roof?

Maybe he's priced it realistically for a quick sale? Its a niche market after all. Someone could end up with a bargain (or a complete pig, granted). Inspection goes without saying.

I paid about 70% more last Sept for a late 05 with 52k (iirc). Would have I considered this one to save six thousand quid? Quite possibly.

Obviously I don't want to cut corners and buy one that's cheap because it's dodgy but if the only reason it's cheap is because it's a high-miler then that's fine by me.

I agree. My picture-taking abilities are very limited but even I managed a better job than him. Crap photos and ad wording could be hiding a decent car though.

High miles, niche market, **** end of nowhere means a very very limited buyer pool unless people are prepared to travel.

Nearest main dealer is a good hour and a bit away, good independents are even further as far as I'm aware.
