W211 E55s for sale

It is an incredibly rare 2004/07 plate model. I've not seen one of those before!

The car looks quite good from a glance.

Assuming the mileage is genuine, it has been looked after and carries it well - the seats look like new unless the photos are disguising the reality very well...

I don't think the wording is too bad - spelling appears spot on.

"Higher version of E55" - I assume here he is saying it is the top model in the E Class range or it has a lot of options, rather than it being a higher model than the other E55s, and English is possibly not his first language.

They were £74,000 on the road so I am not sure it has £16,000 of options.

As Tim (TDE) says, and as with any car - particularly one of these (arguably) - a good inspection and road test is needed.

It could drive like new or be a complete dog...

As a quick aside John, do you know of a way of finding out the price of precise car when it was initially bought? I can't find the purchase invoice for mine, and am very curious.

He's Polish which would explain the language. :)

The photos are shocking though. There's no excuse for those. :o

I'm watching this thread closely, I *should* be in the market for a W211 E55 or a W203 C55 very shortly.

I'll hope that you are sorted by the time I'm ready to find mine, GreetMe.

I really think you'd be better off in a C55.

I knew as soon as I read your post that you'd pounce on anything that came up for sale. :(

I think our budgets are different though so hopefully all the ones you look at would be ones that I wouldn't consider and vice versa.

I'm a bit old fashioned in my ways, so if/when I'm ready to buy either car, I'll be in touch to see which you're interested in and not tread on your toes. Wouldn't be cricket old boy. :thumb:

There's a 55 plate on the e bay for £11,995 that if I were you, I'd be looking at. You sound like a haggler, so you might be able to work your magic...;)

Edit: just had a look at the part ex value of the 04 E55 with 140k on and it is £6k...

Wow. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. You're a star. :)

Let the shopping commence.

the 54 plate one is nicely spec`d up, just no pana roof and no rear blind, but has got keyless and distronic.

the 55 plate one has pana roof but no keyless or distronic

depending on what options are important, they both look good.-

Ah right, the Evoque one. That's on AT as well. :)

Not bothered about rear blind or distronic but would like keyless and panoramic roof. Just to be awkward. :D

Keyless go and panoramic roof are about the only two things that I'm bothered about off that list.

I've got my eye on a nice one but it hasn't got a sunroof at all and the owner doesn't like my offers so far. The rest of it is spot-on though so if we can agree a price I think I could forego the sunroof.

I don't even really know why I care about keyless go but it's really appealing for some reason.

keyless one of my best options, put the key in your pocket, and forget about it, unlock doors, start\stop the car without using the. its one of those options that impresses everyone who hasnt seen keyless before.

other options which are great are distronic, very nice for long journeys.

rear door blinds are the nuts esp with the kids in the back.

the rest are all nice to haves

Shame really - i originally planned on keeping mine til about September, but it ticks all your boxes so far, GreetMe. Pano, keyless, HK, Command TV / nav, the fun seats, phone kit, lingua. Even got heated rear seats (they fold too - dont know if that's standard though). Doesnt have blinds, distronic or heated s/wheel, none of which I'd use anyway. Its a Nov '05, 54k, MBSH, Obsidian.

If you're still looking in a few months time, or so eager now that you'll pay good (but not silly) money, let me know. I'm far from desperate to sell, and may even end up keeping it long term as I do love it, but it will go for the right price.

Keyless go on the car I test drove didn't even work but once I realised that I'd be able to start the car with a button on the gearstick I decided that I needed to have it. :D

Is the cruise control (normal and distronic) easy to operate in terms of where the controls are? I noticed they were on that little stalk behind the wheel which looked a bit fiddly. One of the nice things about cruise control on the M5 was that it was all controlled by buttons just to the left of where your right thumb goes, making it really easy to use.

I'm definitely interested but I think on that plate with those options and that mileage it would be out of my price range.

I appreciate the offer though. :)

Ha ha the button start is ace. That on its own nearly sold me the car! Cruise is very easy - stalk falls nicely to hand, and you can vary your speed by moving it, and something called Lim, but never figured that bit out.

Just noticed Alps list - would have thought the heated / ventilated / massage seats would be standard. Clearly not! The cost of these options must have been a bundle.

No worries! When it goes I'd prefer it to go to a forum member so I can follow its progress :)

It had the keyless go button and the salesman said that it worked but neither he nor I could make it happen. His response was "It's normally fine. It must be playing up today". LOL.
