Hi all,

I've got a W211 facelift Avantgarde with the fabric/Artico leather seats which I am finding disappointingly uncomfortable. The area beneath the seams on seat base cushion where the fabric is joined to the Artico is quite hard in places, and it creates uncomfortable pressure points on the back of my thighs. Also, the lumbar support feels too high for it to be any use to me. The discomfort is quite subtle but it spoils an otherwise superb car.

I've been considering my options:

  • Fit some aftermarket padded covers
  • Replace the fabric/Artico with MB leather covers - they sometimes come up on ebay
  • Get the seats re-upholstered professionally
  • Fit a full leather interior from a W211 of a similar vintage
  • Fit seats from a different MB : will it be possible to fit seats from another model?
  • Chop the car in for something else
  • Stop being so fussy and live with it
Can anyone offer some advice, and has anyone else had similar problems?

Thanks

Have a sit in a "sport" model W211 the bolsters are much better. If you are going to change the interior possibly try for the sport.

I would recommend the 4th option
-should not cost too much from a scrappy
-will dramatically alter the interior ambience
-might even get electrics etc
-will enhance resale
