Hi all
We have recently bought our second W211 estate (first one went in a flood before Christmas) and the heated passenger seat is not working.
Whilst not critical (at least to the main driver which is me!) we would like to sort it.
The lights come one when you press the on button and stay on for about 30 seconds, so I guess there is power to it. It isn't long enough to know if it is warming in that time. The lights then go off and the seat does not get warm.

Our local garage doesn't know and the nearest dealer don't have any suggestions over the phone, except to say that nationally no new seat cushions were sold last year, so unlikely to be an element within the seat problem.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience with this. If likely to cost a lot, we will certainly leave it, but if there is an easy-ish fix, that would be great.

Many thanks for any help.

HELLO there!
have you ever discovered what was the cause of your passenger heated seat problem as I am having identical problem?

If you have checked under the seats for any loose wiring, the heated mat probably has broken wiring from the seat being knelt on at some point.
STAR diagnosis at the dealer should reveal the problem.

^ If it is broken wiring in the seat mat, its a pretty expensive repair.
I believe you can get aftermarket heated seat pads from eBay to work.

that is a great idea!
many thanks once again!
kindest regards from Republic of Srpska!

The op has not been back since then.
