I took my 2008 E280cdi for regular service yesterday. Tech noticed oil seepage/stains on the left side of the intercooler -- around the junction/seam between the plastic inlet part and the aluminum core of the intercooler. They said it must be leaking at there.
I hadn't noticed anything from a power or noise issue and still don't. Could the oil be coming from somewhere else?
Even if it is the intercooler leaking, why is there oil? The intercooler should just contain air, right?
Need some quick advice as I have to make a call on whether I should buy online from the US right now (car is in India) as I am going there next week. Much cheaper in US vs. India.
Thanks
This pic taken from below show the left plastic inlet portion of the intercooler where it meets the core.
