W211 Interior light bulb change

They look much better but i never like yellow lighting , i got them from flea bay as this was before i knew he did them

Looks great, especially against the silver paintwork. So much better than the yellow lamps and they compliment the Xenons.

What colour did you go for?

Cheers , I didnt say so the usual default value seems to be around 6K , the boot is a huge change i can find things in the dark now....lol

Has anyone changed the downlight in the rear view mirror to an led?

Mines a 2005 cl203.

If its possible I think it would very tricky indeed!

Thanks, Sam

Looks great. There's a big difference in the boot.

I'll probably stick with the yellow interior lights as they look warmer and welcoming and match the light interior of my car.

Did you get the rear number plate lamps done as well? I'm thinking of doing mine so they will match the headlamps.

Will place order with killerhertz next week. Got to keep it in forum you know. Besides don't trust flea bay, bad experience once, never again.

Won't get my car back now until mid week. Apparently Issues with gear box. Rather get it sorted now whilst its at the Garage.

Cheers complete led lamps coming soon to replace the number plate units & good luck with the gearbox issue

Very easy just remove the little lens by pressing the tab then use some long nose pliers to remove the bulbs & replace with wedge leds

The rear roof dome is held on by 4 plastic clips just pull down but be carefull of the ribbon wire , front dome , unclip the trim around the mirror , unclip the trim that sits over the windscreen sensor , tilt the mirror down on one angle & give a little tug & it pops out then look up in the hole thats left & there are 2 black plastic tabs , push them in & the light comes out , still waiting for bulbs for that one so i just refitted it as it was. The picture of my rear dome shows the 2 center trims missing I took them off to see if the lens cover would come off , but it doesnt so dont bother removing them.

I found out today if you order complete number plate lights (led can bus complete) you have to split the boot in half to remove the old lights & install the new ones ! I ran out of time & just fitted the led bulbs for now

I bought the led number plate lights (complete can bus units) from e bay & fitted them today , easy job just remove the boot lid trims & then undo the3 x 8mm nuts & remove the outer boot cover (you will need to remove the number plate to get to the cnter screw) making sure you pop out the top edge first as it wraps around the bottom edge then pop out the old lights & install the new ones . Takes about 20 mins if you take it slow

Nice one mate. Why did you have to remove the whole assembly for? Are the rear number plate LEDs just festoon lamps? Can't these be replaced just by removing the screws around the lens?

Cheers

No these are complete lamps with 8 LEDs in , I did try the led bulbs first but these are much brighter . The lamp doesn't fit through the panel so it had to come off, it looks scarier than it is to do . I fitted front Drl,s yesterday so that's almost all the lighting done .
