W220 S430 for 5k, no bids, 3 hours left

Apart from the xenons, it's the very basic spec. No parktronic, rear blind, linguatronic, comfort seats etc.

Says it has high mileage, but doesn't even mention how much, so could be rather astronomical .

Could be a genuine reason for shifting it, but then again with only 6 month ownership more could be going on.

My advice as a long time s-class owner: get it thoroughly checked out by an engineer before buying any of these. If the airmatic suspension, the cats or the electronics need repairs, that will be a very costly business.

hmmm yes. unstated - probably starship - mileage and only a few weeks ticket. and which one of the three previous owners was the chauffeur that babied the car? lot of car for the money, but could no doubt sink 2-4K in maintenance/repairs within a year.

I'm guessing around 200K+ for the mileage? The seats look pretty well worn!

Cheap @ £5K, but the seller has no feedback (will they honour the sale at that price?) and remember the old adage 'Nothing as expensive as a cheap Mercedes' ;)

Why hasn't he put a fresh MOT on it, one wonders??? It would surely help the sale.

Assuming of course that it could pass ...

Quite right, and as the owner of a similar vintage W220 I know only too well:(. This one'll be five grand to buy and the same again to get through the MOT and keep going for a year

Email him and ask him if he'll get it MOT'd and you'll pay the extra £50 ;)

See what he says ....

Offer him £3K ;) :p

Yep, as above, I reckon circa 200K.

Still must be worth a punt even if it is 200k plus..... An S class Merc for 4 year old Mondeo money.

Not if it needs £5k's worth of work to get it through the MOT ...

Then its a 5 year old Merc with USS Enterprise mileage , that stands you in as much as if you bought a good low mileage example to begin with ...

 After you :)

A fool and his money are soon parted and there are so many bells ringing in my head the Hunch Back of Notre Dame has made an appearance. ;)

John

Are you making him croissants and coffee at this time on a Saturday morning John ?

Don't upset him , or he'll get the hump ....

It's the same one readvertised at £500 quid less. Curiosity has got the better of me and I've emailed him to see what the mileage is, perhaps we should start a sweepstake. I'm going for 215,000

It's done 225k.

If the auction ended at £4500, I reckon the buyer could use it to part exchange with a dealer for another car and get offered more than that in P/X.
