Just as I was going out about 20 minutes ago I started the CLK up and sat in it for a few minutes waiting for it to warm up whilst on my phone.

I did the usual which is to put the heated seats on, rear window demist and the hot air. After about 5 minutes I went back into the house to get something and came back out to see a small puddle of water no bigger than a centre cap on a wheel.

The puddle was just infront of the passenger rear wheel. Once I reversed the car I could see that the puddle had started right in the centre of the car inbetween the rear wheels and leaked to just infront of the passenger wheel as it was parked on a slant.

The puddle has no smell to it at all... Its not oil etc..
The droplets start when the car is turned on and stop after the car gets to normal temperature.
The leak starts from the rear of the car right in the centre axle area.. just infront of the rear wheels.
It starts as droplets and gets bigger turning into a puddle. Although never gets any bigger than the size of a centre cap on a wheel.

Im not worried about it.. Its just annoying me, because I dont know what it is..

What could it be? If its leaking from the rear axle/diff area, has no smell to it and is clear like water? :dk:
Isit just water?

Sounds like its coming from the air con, sounds normal to me

a/c condensate normally drips from just in front of the gearbox, where the a/c drain exits

Thought so.. It happens everytime the AC is on and cant be anything else but water..

Its just I thought all the AC stuff was towards the front of the car? not the rear.

This is what makes me wonder.. As the leak is coming from the rear.

Heres a picture showing where the leak is coming from.. (Not my car, but an example)

Could it be condensation from the exhaust?

Do you have a sunroof? I think the rear drain exits around there?

Dont think it could be the exhaust as the leak starts in the area circled in yellow in the attached photo and ends up in the area of the passenger rear wheel after leaking across the ground.

Yes, I have a sunroof.. Could it be that?

I too think it is condensed exhaust fumes leaking from a poorly fitting joint.

Ok, thank you for all of your inputs :thumb:

For the record, neither of the pictures in this thread are of my car.. Just used purely for reference purposes.

Although I will get someone to look at the joints when the car is next having work done.
