WD40 to remove tar spots?

Petrol is a man?! So I've been pumping men into my fuel tank all along!? No wonder it's running lumpy...

WD-40 is my goto tar remover. It also works very well on sticky residues from decals etc.

Who the hell has petrol at home to use? I only put it in that little hole at back of car, you know, exhaust!
These tar spots don't come off with a credit card :(

If you already have WD40, that will do the job.

Another vote for WD40. Just used it to remove a couple of tar spots on mine - a routine job when you have a white car.

Well I must report that my tar spots must've been SUPER TAR SPOTS as WD40 didn't shift them one iota! Left it sitting in a pool of WD40 and they didn't budge!
So I got my new first time ever to clay, Farecla Clay Mitt from Halfords out and lubed it up plenty and hey presto... They started coming off really easily!
Funny how some methods work for some but not others.

Now I've clayed the whole car and polished it... Am sure I'll get sunburn later as I've been out there for 3 hours :)
