When I ordered my last car with MB, I called back 8 weeks later to find out if there was any indication of a delivery date. The salesman sheepishly told me that he hadn't put the order in on the MB system, and now they'd actually stopped manufacturing that model! It turned out well in the end as they upgraded me to the E350 at net pricing, so I did get a great deal. However, when I change this year, no prizes for guessing who I'll be ordering with, and there are some outstanding country pubs to visit in Norfolk as well!

I think I’ll owe you a pub lunch at this rate [emoji23]

Why would they not say this then when they "confirmed" the order in mid January, more importantly I assume that they have only just looked at the order to "find" a build date for May, when they should be have been looking Mid Feb?? Although to be fair to you as a dealer how can you cope with a situation where a customer orders against the brochure at the time and then you find that level of spec changed before you can find a build slot - you would have thought that once an order is in, its in?

I assume you can't see a suitable build date slot on the system for May or June for me to offer to my dealer to swap with you??

Is it possible for you to get a price of a set of genuine Burmester 3D rotary tweeters for a 2018 w213 as per this thread Burmester *COPY* Speaker 3D Rotary Tweeter for C / GLC / S / E Class

I don't believe they are an optional extra for the UK market when specking up a car are they, but maybe Mercedes offer them as a add on purchase after delivery !!

Of course I could also just ask my local dealer.

Just saw a new E400 coupe - looked great - but needs more cylinders!

Having sat in the current C and E63, the E is a big step up interior wise - but the S coupe is just too massive and conspicuous

The S Class platform isn’t compatible with RHD she 4 Matic. The next generation will be though

No worries, can't PM as I am not at 30 odd posts yet. My choice was:

E220d SE Estate
Cavasite Blue with Beige Leather
Premium Plus (DP1), Driver Assistance Plus (P20), COMAND (with WSC) (531), Air Body Control (489), Metal weave trim (H64), Towbar (550) and Privacy (840).

We also wanted heated windscreen (597), Comfort Heating pack (P68) and Active multi contour seat pack (432), but since this is now a post April car you reckon this is a no(?) - I do believe you but MB Corporate have (verbally but still chasing in writing) said they will deliver the car with these options. We really need the car by 2nd week of July to preserve our summer holiday.

I'll add some more posts over the today to allow PM function.

We also have a bit of leverage (I think) as we also have an equally loaded Cabriolet on order for my wife which we have said they can delay until they can get a WSC (well within reason) as long as they provide our Estate soonest. In their words we are a "priority allocation" but I am quite cynical about these things . Do you think they will have the leverage to get the pre April options or will it be a "computer says no moment"?

I’ve never come across a car being built in the wrong model year. I honestly can’t see you getting those options on the car

James - I (sadly) think your right. I am equally amazed the MB UK has withdrawn them because Audi, BMW and Volvo all offer them on their rival cars. Can't die in a ditch over it as I don't want any other car, its just all a bit annoying. Similarly my (German) wife is really annoyed she can't have a bright interior for her Cabriolet; although to be fair this is comforted by the fact that the the UK list price (£55k) is alot cheaper than the the German list price (£77k!) built to the same spec. Based on current spec my estate is £52K with a German price of £76K!! Who'd have thought LHD dashboards and steering racks were so expensive

Our waiting times are no worse than competitors as a whole. I can generally get cars ordered and delivered a lot quicker than BMW and Audi equivalents. Sometimes these issues can be down to dealers not knowing their stuff and taking orders when they’re unaware of availability issues. Other times, it’s simply than demand is high.

Sadly I don’t think the example above has been handled too well and maybe by the time action has been taken, it’s too late

I believe production starts in December. You should be fine getting hold of the current model for September, as the run out model is already out and specs are simplified
