Exciting news! I’ve decided to order myself an A35 and come out of our company car scheme [emoji33] ETA March

In the colour combo below. The blue doesn’t look great on the configurator, so I’ve included some real pics too

can you get it without the rear spoiler?

Yes, but you lose the night pack, nicer wheels, privacy etc. I’m only 27, so I’m sure I can pull the look off [emoji23]

privacy glass always makes me think drug dealer

I wouldn’t have a car without privacy in the back. No privacy glass makes me think E Class SE

I like SE without the silly side strakes or fake vents in the rear bumper

Drug dealers don't do privacy but tacky tell tale tints .

And the mobile pharmacy is easily identified .

That's why MB has lost it's way.

Because I have a preference over specification of the car I purchase with my own money?

No, MB hasn’t lost its way, it has consciously changed it course. Realising that there’s a market beyond one for middle aged men is the best thing the brand has done in a very long time IMO

Does anyone actually care what other people think about their car anyway?

Life is too short to worry about the small sht.

You'd never buy anything otherwise.

My point exactly, it’s my car to order [emoji23] obviously I don’t fit the traditional MB demographic, but one that’s still important to the brand

I was 35 when I bought my first E55K.

Neither hell nor high water would have stopped me buying it.

The fun I had with it, the immense comfort, performance and that sound track.

The worst cuss I had was about "airport run car".

LOL!

Compared to when?

Truth is that the rot set in at least ten year ago; Mercedes is not a premium marque anymore - it’s executive- it was once a peer of Bentley and Rolls Royce and now it’s a competitor of Audi (anyone that knows the history of Mercedes-Benz would find this a tragedy).

They do now sell (lease) a massive amount of cars compared to that ten year ago, it’s justbthe way the market has gone - some stay high like RR, others go low like Mercedes.

I’ve got no doubt Mercedes margins are exponentially higher than they were in the 90’s but the glamour of owning one lost its lustre long ago (in the 90’s even maybe!)

I prefer privacy glass by the way and if I buy a car that doesn’t have it, I get it fitted...
