What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

mine is a 250gle - I've not noted that but there is always a strong smell of burning when i park up and that tells me the dpf was/is trying to clean.
I used to get this smell a lot years ago when i trutned home from work in hotter weather and had accelerated hard a few times.
I've never noted the burning smell when parked up in winter always in summer after a mideium drive/hotter weather and or hard accleration when joinging a dual carriageway etc - the car is fine nothing wrong with it as i have had it from new

try hard accelartion especially in warmer weather whilst driving for at least 15 mins park up and you will not the unsual smell, not a stink but buring type. smell

Yeah I get the smell along with an increase in tick over revs , tell tale signs of it doing it's thing. I use stp in my fuel , it's meant to do a regen in engine temperatures lower than required. It's every 1800 miles though per bottle 🥴🥴

IIRC i added Wynn's or whatever its called. We picked up the odds and ends and drove quickly on a dual road - i knocked down the gears to read over 2k to 3k reves - when i parked up a few mins ago, there was no smell - not sure if it means its regen or not - yesterday after a few mins of driving and couple of hard acclerations there was that tell tale sign of buring smell from the front side of the car drivers side wheel.

cars just done over 24k and now 9 yrs old fsh by mb other than the most recent a few months ago - over-serviced car - car hardly goes on motorways as we go with one of our son's who have 7 seat cars - when i bought the car i worked so it was driven but i left a few months after and now mostly short trips of mile and next lenght 4 miles that is about it

I’m fancying ordering some of this stuff seeing as you rate it so highly.

I’ve been using Autoglym Aqua-wax for years now. Which is good but maybe time for a change.
Water beads on it like autoglym ceramic coat . I followed spiky Mikey's instructions about putting the bottle in hot water . It really is easy on easy off . I did my GLC and probably used about 10 ml of the stuff . It spreads sooooo far ... You won't be disappointed....

I’m furious. Mr @SpikyMikey told me to use old chip fat on mine!!! Wait till I see him. 🤬 (Although I have to say it does smell nice)

Got ya back for blocking me for having chips with my breakfast omelette.
Revenge is a dish best served with fried potato products...

It is great stuff, but don't try and apply it in cold weather; you'll end up with biceps like Popeye trying to buff it off.

Drove a shed to a wedding venue yesterday where it received plenty of attention and chats with fellow humans reminiscing about early fast fords, amgs, Renault Williams, gsi vauxhalls and BMW's etc - love old skool 😍

Doesn't fit my definition of "a shed" 😍😎
