What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Up and out early today for a trip on the Devon Express, our name for the car which whistles is backwards and forwards to Devon over the Summer months. The weather is cooler and overcast but Spring is such a wonderful time to get in the car and go places.

I'm going to have to book some time off work to finish off the paint correction on my 212 - specifically finish off the n/s flank where there are still some light marks in the clear coat. And I want to give the interior a proper clean.

I thought I had a few "free" days to burn carried over from last year but I can't see them on the system. I'll ask my boss what's happened to them. Annoying.

Smacked into a roe deer at 5.55 am. Front grille condemned, also headlight cover cracked in 2 places.

Found my free days and booked them. Ironically, my wife's away for three days of my four day break in my car.

Sigh. I'll do her Fiat 500 then :-)

That must have been a serious washer.. or more likely lifting clear coat. I also never use hand wash places...I'm not quite so old and infirm that I can't wash my own car....yet! I do use a jet wash though.
You're right. there must have been some serious water pressure to lift a patch of clear coat off the paintwork. It was perfectly fine before the fool with the gun got too close.
It was the one and only time I've ever used a car wash and it annoyed me every time I washed the car afterwards to see that missing clear coat patch.

I managed to reverse into a low wall that was below the height of the sensors. 😬. Annoyed, though I’ve managed to rectify the damage with some chipex, wet and dry and some isopon clearcoat. It needs a polish but then will be good as new.

Not all bad though - it was at a nice pub where I was having my annual review, and I got a decent bonus that after tax paid for most of the new to us BMW. 👍

The Milky Bars are on you! 😁

Got my first "B" service since getting the car in February..........Jeebes Wept!!!!

set of wiper blades (all three) brought it up to €585...........and I was given a further list of €2400 worth of advisorys!!

Anyway....enough of the complaining.......I love the feel of a freshly serviced car, drivig out of the dealer.

(Independant specialist fromnow on........MB really know how to charge)

Not washed them

The guys laying the new patio are cutting on the front lawn and the (was blue) E400 is now grey.

As it's going to pour down tomorrow and we're away in the X1 for the rest of the weekend, I will look at it on Monday.

The SLK had a light layer of dust on it, so I tried a contactless and waterless cleaning technique this fine summers evening.
We needed some bin bags or the like so a 10 mile top down blast around the country B roads and then a half mile drive back from the shop itself must have a taken a little of the dust off.... ;)

I replaced the tired, non-working strut in the central console. Now it whacks open with gusto soon as I press the button.

And - I stopped the vacuum manifold from leaking via the application of copious amounts of glue to the top where it splits. This means the climate controls all work now. Yay!

Next: replace the roof mechanism hydraulic fluid. And try to find out why the aircon isn't delivering cold air....
