What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Painted (in Cosmos Black) and re-lacquered a couple of parts for a spare gearshift handle (and an extra top badge).

This one will be for sale, as soon as the bottom locking part is back from carbon hydrographics treatment.
Not for my car, as it's not an AMG, but hopefully someone will like it:

I took the day off work today, and took my C63 AMG (W204) to MSL for a secondary cat delete (this is after a remap there last Saturday).

Holy crap! My car now sounds and drives like a BEAST.

So glad I went there & did these mods, great work by the guys!

Took the instrument panel out and fixed the fuel gauge. Ordered a K1 spring or the transmission, ordered the atf, filter and gasket researched the idler bushes and fitting a cruise control.

Lol... crap happens, eh? My car's black, so shows up rain spots like mad!

It helped after I had it professionally detailed, though. One of the best things I've done, TBH, in terms of vastly improving the car's looks and sealing and protecting the paintwork.

Anyway, what have I done to my Merc, or rather will be having done...

Having some Bilstein B6 sports shocks fitted tomorrow (details here: https://www2.bilstein.com/en/product/bilstein-b6/ ) to replace the stock Merc ones, which will work in tandem with the car's already lowered sports suspension, EBC drilled and grooved discs and Yellowstuff racing/sport brake pads.

Work carried out recently:

1) Full sports remap, from Topgear Tuning, using software designed by a guy who works for NASCAR. All aspects of engine performance maxed out.

2) New stainless-steel quad sports exhaust system fitted, from Longlife (including DPF delete).

3) Existing turbo unit fully reconditioned, professionally, to maximise performance and reliability.

4) Fitted Mandrus Rotec 19" (super-lightweight) alloys in matt black, both to look good and reduce rotating mass, for increased performance and economy.

Teamed those up with some super-low profile Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s.

5) Had car professionally detailed by CIB Car Care.

6) Had engine Terracleaned (internal cleaning and de-carboning process).

Some pics....

I want gloss black alloys now :( I`m not normally a fan of tinted lights, front or rear but those look wicked to be fair :thumb:

Changed horrible yellow sidelights to nice bright LED ones

Replaced the rear boot panel with a one from the B-class - with chrome inserts:

The original one was plain black plastic:

Also, assembled and fitted the new gearshift (and the surround plate), so the interior upgrade is finished (for now):

The armrest and the gearshift handle were re-trimmed in the same perforated leather as the steering wheel, so nicely matched. I like it :thumb:

PS ... I might get the sliding cover over the power socket recoated later on - the first chap who did carbon hydrographic for me, messed up a few parts, so I have now found a true professional, who re-done gearshift and surround (so far).

Had a look at a e200 in black , 2012 , 35000 mts full history , lovely condition ,
Bit of thinking to do went looking for 3.0 but this is so clean and so low mls its temping .
Only thing is its audio 20 , although it's in dash 6 cd , Bluetooth, memory seat , heated seats etc etc. So it's quite well loaded.
Head scratching now lol.

Tyre pressure warning in London traffic. Checked at handy garage - n/s/r down 5psi. Topped up for 50p then sorted for free at ATS. Nasty little screw - these things are sent to try us.

Easy bag holder

My Audi had some useful bag holders in the boot. My C class doesn't. Got fed up with carrier bags, losing all the contents. Found a quick cheap answer. The spring clamp fits nicely into the holes in the top frame. And flip up out of the way easily.

Where did you get these?

I bought a collapsible crate (OE) from Mercedes Newcastle eBay store a while ago - a very useful thing indeed, and takes no space folded down:

It is fixed to the boot floor with four velcro pads, and never moves, in fact it's an effort to remove it, when needed.
