What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Are your wheels diamond cut? We only have one place on Jersey that do diamond cut wheel refurbs and wondered what the cost should be to make sure I don’t get ripped off when I have mine done.
No they’re not diamond cut and only 17” so £280 plus vat. My wife’s Abarth had diamond cut and when we had those done first time we had a simulated diamond cut without being diamond cut (using a combination of shadow chrome and silver). They looked great. When we had them done the second time we just went sparkle silver all over. They looked the best to me but then I’m quite old school with wheels, I just like sparkly/shiny silver!

But you don’t have to retain the diamond cut finish if you don’t want.

Have you not yet been invited to accept The MB Club Challenge ? 😉
Wait… is that the one where I have to decode a message from a squirrel, recite the secret latte recipe backwards, and find the hidden door behind the vegan cheese aisle at Tesco? Because I may already be halfway initiated. 😅

Thanks I was told £120 per wheel for mine to be re diamond cut. I think I will stick with the diamond cut as they look so good and have miraculously lasted 17 years. My fear is they won’t be as durable as the OEM finish, but they need refurbing so not much I can do about that.

Coat them regularly with something like collinite 845 . Keep that white worm at bay .

I'd be surprised if it made any difference....white worms (proper name, filiform corrosion) gets in through chips and scratches ...no polish can stop that.

After switching out our smart home gear from our last house, I loaded stuff into our winter car which we keep there.

I’ve not driven it for perhaps four months, it’s been standing guard on the drive to make it look like the is someone there!

It’s been hooked up to a CTEK, and it burst it into life on the first push of the button, ready for Mrs D to drive home.

I love following one of our own cars. Mrs D passed a 2007 GL and the lady driver pointed in acknowledgement at ours!

Here it is. Such a wonderful car.

Went back to finish things off this morning and cart a final load of stuff home. This wonderful car swapped it all up.

Arrived home just in time to empty it, shower, and fill it with Baby D, Junior D, Jumior D’s boyfriend, and my detailer…

…and make it to the showing of the F1 Mivie we had booked. We walked in with one minute space. Perfect.

Added a little bling to the AMG (wheels)View attachment 175969
Very nice addition and sometimes it's the little things that can bring a smile just as much as the big ones. 👍

I bought some metal ones for my gals quite some time ago that I thought were snazzy, and I did put a light smear of lithium grease on the inside to prevent them sticking to the valve. Trouble was I left them on too long and didn't know that the two metal surfaces would seize together, so when it came to removing them for pumping up the tyres - I know, I know, should have checked them far more regularly as a matter of routine  ... you guessed it, I couldn't budge to blooming things.

After a number of failed attempts, they were off and now it's strictly plastic babies for me ;)
