What is it with Merc's n Bradford

I've got to the end of the two pages of this conversation, and I'm absolutely laughing my head off at how everyone has avoided just saying it. Obviously, I myself need to tread carefully being part of the left wing creation that is 'tolerant Britain' where freedom of speech only applies to certain people, so I'll put it like this... What is it with Merc's n Bradford Well. I can't answer that question, but I can post below a completely unrelated photograph from a famous TV show to get you thinking...

I don't think it has anything to do with a particular race. If that was the case, we'd avoid cars from Luton, Bedford, Alumn Rock area Birmingham (okay the exception being the latter!) and more

Ah but you see, it's not to do with a particular race, that's not what I'm implying - otherwise you'd be right about all the other cities.
What I am however implying is that there is a certain culture within Bradford - be that a mixture of lots of elements, mostly socio-economic (as these things usually are), but with high aspirations which means that they feel that the only way they can rise to the top is through decept and fraud

This is where the old yellow merc comes in; obviously the guy wants a merc, but he can't afford it (not that that's his fault) but he still aspires to having it, which is why he got the merc that he could afford.

This is a local culture within Bradford that is adopted by white and non-White people alike.

Is that because he speaks the truth about many world matters ?

Well he certainly speaks something, but 'truth' isn't a word I would use. However this is of course personal opinion and we're all entitled to one...

I did once have a rather good curry in Bradford. Never been back, though. Although the tales of lesbian cat fights does pique my interest for a revisit.

I got the impression it wasn't a cat fight, rather the conservative natives of Bradford were unhappy at the Sapphic display of affection & chased the two white devils young ladies out of the establishment

I think that given his behaviour on celebrity Big Brother, and the circumstances around his losing the 2015 by elections, you could make some fairly critical comments about his personality.

Said that... just as I commented in a separate thread regarding Philip Green, the fact that someone has an obnoxious personality tends to cloud the issues and make us more susceptible to accept allegations made against them.

In short, George Galloway may have perfectly reasonable and sensible views in spite of the way he conducts himself in public, and certainly enough people think so to have him voted in in the first place.

But perhaps we should leave it here and not derail the thread into politics....

He's right; we should instead focus on the real enemy relating to this forum: BMW.

Well said Mark. Couldn't agree with you more

Damn. you have to understand my total naivety in such matters. I went to a school populated with all colours and religions. I just thought folk were, well, just folk.

Really nice use of the word sapphic though. That I had to Google it probably defines my naivety.

Think you have put me off trying another curry there. Although would I get a good px on an e55? Low miles, low owners....?

Previously mentioned people I knew took me to Shimla that was a great meal. Afterwards I was taken to a family friend who had a full blown body shop behind his semi.

Luckily his brother lived next door and worked in the business. I don't think what they demolished to construct the works unit was approved by planning.

What I saw didn't surprise me, undeclared crash damaged bmws, mercs and some exotic motors. All to be repaired and sold on with no knowledge of the previous accident history.

What you called the 'Bradford flag' is actually the flag of Pakistan

Quite so. Lets not bring the race card into the thread.
The facts cannot be hidden though. There are an abundance of crooked car dealers that trade from Bradford. Not only that, but if you want a cut and shut,or a mileage alteration carried out, look no further. It's just the way it is.

Oh is it? Sorry, I didn't realise. I just saw it a lot in Bradford so I thought maybe its the local flag or something. I've just googled it and you're right, my bad.
Oh come on, are you for real?! Your mum is from new delhi and you don't know what the pakistan flag looks like?! Wow, what a guy

I can not disagree with that at all..
