What is this lump?

It's a 2JZ motor, normally found nestling under the bonnet of a Supra. 3 litre straight six, putting out around 220 in NA format, rising to about 320 for the turbo 2JZ-GTE.

I was a little worried when I read the thread title, I thought you where looking for medical advice!

according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra
2JZ-GTE is only a mere 280 bhp standard at wheels 320 at the crank but even so....
0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds and 1/4 mile (402 m) in 13.1 seconds at 109 mph

and then again....
The engine is capable of producing around 400hp with the stock twin turbos and mild bolt-on upgrades such as a boost controller and high-flow exhaust.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

3 litre 400bhp twin turbo'd 190E

Interesting to note that in Japan, when a Supra needs a serious HP upgrade, they usually take out the Toyota engine and replace it with a Nissan RB26DETT engine, out of a Nissan Skyline GT-R. Apparently they are a very strong engine, capable of ludicrous horspower.

(goes straight to e-bay to look for smashed R34)

IIRC, the engine hasn't changed much between the R32 and R34 - a cheap front cut of an R32 should be quite affordable.

The UK has some seriously good GT-R workshops that know the engine inside out.
