What would it cost to equip and operate a garage?

If it helps, our insurance for a full classic car workshop, including full comp insurance on all cars at all times, workshop equipment, tools, 'work in progress', a huge amount of stock and buildings is around £ 15k a year.

You should also have a works van and a trailer or some other recovery vehicle. Courtesy cars.

All our chaps provide their own tools, but its covered on our insurance.

Servicing the loan on that plus rent, business rates, insurance, waste disposal, electricity, gas, wages, NI & accountancy fees can't be easy

He has never looked back. MOT slots are full days in advance, never an empty slot on any ramp. He appears to be doing well. Wish I had joined him sometimes.

Theres probably a good opportunity for buying equipment off people (not necessarily mercedes specialists) that are going bang. If you know what you need, keep your eyes keenly peeled in the new year.

I think only main dealers, if anyone, will go pop and much less likely to be repairing garages, because people are going to run older cars for longer so will require more repairs.

It's how it used to be before everyone could run a new car on minimum first payment terms.

Thanks again very one for the feed back, if you would step this way I can explain myself.
