Whats Cool and Whats Not!

Not sure what car you have, but get OEM blinds as an option to tints - easily removable if you need to, and tints on the front windows are now more or less illegal anyway - not sure whether a very light tint is still acceptable, but I think not.

You can still have tints on the front windows. Not sure of the exact amount of light they must let through but it's over 80%.

Some of the lads in Manchester City Centre stopped a Range Rover a week or two back and the front side windows were only allowing 3% of the light through     Very scary to think people are driving vehicles like that.

he he - so glad to see we've all got such good taste :p

Me - I like badges to be either understated or truthful - me n Fuzzer see eye to eye on this one all the time - don't we chuck ;) :p I prefer a wolf in sheeps' clothing rather than a wolf that goes baa :D

Chrome - too much is bling  but small touches finish of the interior nicely. It also depends what colour car and overall style you're going for if you want to trim up the exterior.

Also how thick's your skin? Can you take the ribbing and have confidence in your own taste? If not - don't do it :D

Mark, we have a customer than had a 123 coupe then two 126 SECs, he fits them with full hydro and drives down the roads like that... Funny to sit in it while it is bouncing off the ground!

Unfortunately his last SEC the rear end started falling off due to the weight of the batteries and pumps in the boot!! :o

Great for the lowrider look! but I bet he must spend thousands of ££££ fitting them out, or does he take the hydrolics out of the old car and put it into his new one?As for batteries I bet there must be at least one battery to each pump maybe two?

two big 6V batts to each pump...he must spend some money indeed, has got new gear for each car...

What about this then?

Sl style front wings, cool or not ?

Yup, the only chrome on a w202 should be the grille IMO.

I'm glad my questions have resulted in such healthy debate :bannana:

Personalising your car is exactly like personalising your home! No two people will have the same opinion about what you feel is tasteful.

If you think it's cool, who gives a s ;) *t about what other people think

Just make sure your skin is thick enough for the incoming flack  :D

Exactly...there is some certain DO NOT's but most stuff is down to personal taste.

I get tonnes of digs from the guys at work with their 'prestige' cars and my 'messed up' one ;)

I agree!

Just bought my 1997 E320 estate, spec is:

Leather, 7 seats, aircon, auto box, rain sensor wiper, 10 CD auto changer, heated seats and about to put Comand in (hopefully  )

First thing my father in law( ) said was "it's not new though is it!"

He should talk, he has a BMW 3 series he bought new a year ago and his car has probably depreciated more than the total cost of mine!(and mine would woop his ass, he only has a 318)

Message is dont be a plate junky, love the car your with :bannana: Make it yours :D :D

You don't say what colour the car is .....

So here goes ....

Silver OUT
Any colour IN

Silver Benz, so 90's :D :D

Mine is Amazon green, unlucky for some but not for me :bannana: :bannana:

You are more or less correct. As most side windows forward of the B pillars are already tinted by the manufacturer to a level of 70% VLT, any additional window tinting film will be a breach of Section 32 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regs.

As from 1st Jan 2004 anyone resposible for the fitment of window tints which reduce the light transmission to below the prescribed levels is committing an offence under section 75 of the 1988 Road Traffic Act with reference to Section 41 ( Construction and Use Reg).

Consequently most window tinting firms are now only offering to REMOVE front window tints, and will refuse to fit therm anymore.

Does anyone know of the standard Mercedes tint levels?
