What's the average cost of a remap for a C63 AMG

Out of interest mate what sort of power you got out your GT? (Sorry to go off topic)

500 HORSES AND 487FT OF TORQUE - 0-60MPH is 4.6 sec on paper and around 180MPH - Car has not as of yet been tuned.

Really fancied a Bentley for ages. Birmingham dealer keep sending me emails lol.

I'd want the one with all the body kit on etc. They seem very reasonable to buy used.

MKB offer the following increase with their Stage 1 remap for the W204 C63 AMG:

Increase in performance to 405 kW (551 HP) at 6800 rpm, 645 Nm at 5100 rpm
modification:
Modified engine management with readapt ignition map and injection map, incl.Vmax delimiter.

That's some impressive figures if that's just a ecu tune..the general rule of thumb would be about 520bhp with a re-map. However, with long tube headers you would be looking at 550bhp....
To put into perspective a stage 1 Weistec supercharger conversion gives you 615bhp..... So 551bhp from just a ecu remap is awesome...,,and being honest I don't believe that is with just a remap .....must be with long tube headers

No thats just stage 1 ECU remap but your entitled to your opinion. I read your thread and am impressed with your tuning which no doubt was expensive.

I don't believe in finance hence if I cant afford then I cant have!;)

If I had £200k laying around for a Bentley. The last thing I would do is buy a Bentley. I'd just buy more rentals buddy. :)

They get rave reviews MKB and there website does show 551HP for there stage 1 tune.....maybe my ignorance but is that not a higher figure than BHP???
I was under impression HP was without any losses where as BHP takes into account losses.

Just curious now because if MKB can do 550BHP then anyone going the other way and doing a full exhaust including long tube headers plus a remap to get 550bhp would have to be insane ( full IPE exhaust costs roughly 2.5k)

Think I might have answered my own question after a bit of Internet searching

PS explained
Though it’s still commonly used by carmakers, PS or Pferdestärke (horse-strength in German) was actually replaced by kW as the EU's ‘legal’ measurement of engine power in 1992.

One PS is about 98.6% of a braKe horse power

Don't shoot me but if MKB are quoting PS (which has then been translated as HP) then they get about the same as most other tuners

So the gains are much closer to the EC figures but with the added cost + travel?

Had mine mapped yesterday. Found out my friend does them using Renntech software as he is an agent for them. He Runs Collins Performance Engineering in Congleton Cheshire.
The good thing was, I was able to sit with him and he talked me through all the map settings and showed me where the throttle limitation was.
Feels real strong now, it's a different drive through the Rev range and keeps getting stronger at the top end.
Oh, and he did it for the right money also ;-)
