In my experience Stu, it's pretty much the same wherever you live. I had 6 years in Germany and my wife now 9 years in England.
Every government removes as much money as possible from its citizens leaving just enough to live on. This of course is exaggerated but in principal not far wrong, they just do it in different ways. We've all been on holiday or working abroad where 'fags are so cheap you can't afford not to smoke!' and beer and wine , petrol etc. etc. is cheap. But live there under their rules for a while and after the 'honeymoon period' has worn off you'll see it's about the same apart from the weather of course!!!
For me leaving Europe is the dream. I would be in Oz.

Seriously Stu, you're 28. If your dream is Oz then go get it. Life's to short to not be happy. If you never go then you'll always wonder!
Please don't think I'm being patronising but always remember that there are people all over the world with real life effecting/threatening things going on. You got your health and a roof over your head buddy. (I hope)

To me, a rut is doing the same thing day in day out.
Bills, kids, shopping, mortgages, this car or that car, pensions, holidays, universities for the kids, a concert here or a concert there.
Friday night is going out night. Indian, Italian or whatever.
Rut.
Happytalk73 said:Funny how we all have differing perceptions. I do all the above, but don't consider it a rut. I adore it, it's life, it's ace. :bannana:
