I have just ordered the C5 using the DW code to get a discount.....my thanks go to Detailed.
The plan is to get some C5 onto my newly refurbished summer wheels before they go onto the car......may not be this w/e judging by the temperatures forecast......hey ho

No problem, Alex @ Elite Car Care is fixing the mbclub discount code now and will be here shortly:)

I'm detailing my work van for the next 5 days so I will put up a thread on the best way to C5 your wheels on order to get 10-12 months out of the product.

Hi Detailed

I was intending to ''do'' my summer wheels this w/e with the C5 before putting them on the car.......I had hoped to apply the C5 with the benefit of your ''how to'' thread.......is there any chance this might be soon please.

It would be very much appreciated by me at least.

Thanks

Hi there,

Sorry I have been flat out working glass coating and correcting a new car this morning. My personal way is the following:

-Remove wheels
-Snow foam & rinse.
-degrease tyres with surfex hd, scrub & rinse.
-clean wheel inside out with bilberry wheel cleaner using a detailing brush and rinse.
-Repeat this process with iron x instead of bilberry.
-Dry alloy.
-de tar using tardis and a damp microbre.
-give wheel a thorough ipa wipe down using a microfibre.
-apply C5 to inside and outside of wheel using a makeup applicator.
-Using a heat gun like to speed up curing time inside and out.
-Buff excess residue with a clean microfibre.
-Then leave wheels inside to cure for 24 hours.
-place wheels back on vehicle and torque up to correct factory settings.

AFTERCARE: wash wheels with a standard ph neutral shampoo, no wheel cleaners. If used for lots of mileage then just jet wash weekly. By doing this you will easily get 12 months of protection.

Tip: Apply a second coat 24 later for extra protection or for the ultimate, apply EXO over the C5 for the very best in hydrophobic protection.

Hope that helps:)

Kind Regards
Michael

I will.......but I have not as yet washed the car since the wheels went on about 400 miles ago.
What I will say is that whilst the Conti SC5 tyres are not the quietest they do instill enormous confidence........although I am of course still ''running them in''.

Glad the C5 working for you, and great choice of shampoo. My favourite to be exact:)
