I asked for a little help on what wiper blades members recommend and thanks for the recommendations, I got a Valeo Silenciol from Euro Car Parts for a very reasonable £10.56, my local MB dealer wanted £31.85 for a Bosch wiper which ECP sells for £10.56 and Halfords sell for £20.80, my question is why do the prices vary for the same product? Who wouldn't get the oe part at a third of the dealer price from somewhere other than a main dealer ? ( BTW I didn't get the Bosch as ECP were out of stock)

Are you sure that dealer price isn't for a pair? I seem to remember the dealer price being quite reasonable and even better when I asked for discount!

The price was for a single wiper, I asked if the price could be matched or maybe a little discount be given and I was given short but friendly shrift.

I recently got a front pair and the tailgate wiper for £35 from my dealer

I got one for £16 from GSF

Mercedes Benz in Stratford, East London are single handedly passing on all the costs of the Olympic Stadium on to all us poor MB drivers thats why discount is a lesser spotted beast.

I agree with the aero flat blades.
I bought one for my w124 in sept. And still going strong. Seems to work well at speed too although I've found it isn't too keen on the second motor speed as it doesn't have a chance to fully flex around the top edges of the screen. Although not a major issue.
Bargain prices. And looks very modern.
Great stuff

i purchased a set from MB Leicester last week, and they cost £31 for a pair..

ok so maybe not a c class we're talkin about, but i use this company on ebay and have done for since they opened.

Mercedes Benz C Class 00-03 Flat Aero Wiper Blades on eBay (end time 08-Feb-11 04:59:16 GMT)

very well priced and fantastic quality, i have used these not only the merc but on the '86 mini, my wifes 307, and my nova.
they survive the winter amazingly.
For £8 a pair, well worth a try in my eyes! :thumb:

@dannyg2325,

Interesting link, but is the shorter front wiper blade have a slight curved in its profile to the windscreen edge for the W203 '00-'03?
I tried another supplier on eBay, but the wiper was straight and overlapped the windscreen onto the cowling. Plus, the quality was poor too.

I will be using Bosch or OEM in future.

CLK and SLK were both in region of £24-28 for a pair from main dealer.

the wiper seems to be tensioned, if that makes any sence? so when you lay the wipers on the screen after fitting them seem to mould to the shape of the window. thats the only way i can think of describing it.

the 307 is much worse, it has a major curve in the windscreen and no matter what wipers i tried they were hopeless. but when used the wipers above all issues were gone!
and from memory it was 2 years ago i bought them for the wifes 307 and they are still as good as new!

i dont no about other sellers, clearly quality does seem to differ from one to the other.
But these one's i couldnt speak any higher of!

Hopefully this helps :thumb:

I understand the tensioned part and forms itself in the vertical plane to the windscreen curvature. But, on the OS windscreen at the bottom the wiper follows the contour (curved) edge of the windscreen. Looking at the OEM wiper side on, it is in the horizontal plane that the wiper is curved. Whereas, the other wiper is straight.

I hope I have described it cleared!
