I am thinking of buying an S320cdi June 03, but as I'm a newbie, would like to know if split folding rear seats were fitted to the model (or available as an option)?

Thanks

I doubt that very much.

Im about 99% sure it was never avalible in the UK market with folding rear seats.

The largest saloon MB do with this function is the E class and even then its going to be very rare that someone orders it.

These are the rear seating options for a 2004 S-class and as you can see there is no option listed. Don't forget this is an executive car with extremely comfortable rear seats and perhaps folding them would not be practical?

Man. folding table in rear fr. l. seat backrest (407) GBP 528
Man. folding table in rear fr. rt. seat backrest (408) GBP 528
Memories for rear seats (276) GBP 204
Multi-contour rear seats with massage function (406) GBP 749
Multi-function steering wheel - heated (443) GBP 174
Parking Assist (229) GBP 0
Rear seats - comfort ventilated (402) GBP 562

Regards
John

Yes , as does the w203 sports coupe and the W208 and W209CLK as standard.

No. It's an executive saloon, not a van. You're supposed to be wafted around in luxury and comfort in it, not use it to transport an Ikea kitchen table  :D.

I shall remove you from the S class estate waiting list then :D

Here is the reason why. There is a steel plate behind the seat back to increase stiffness and reduce noise, similar to W210 and W202.

Ok, OK, I'm sorry....

But seriously, what about a towbar or roofrack....only joking!

Is there a ski flap so that you can push longer objects through from the boot. It looks like there is on the drawing in the previous message. Was this an option?

Thanks again

Towbar and roofrack isnt a problem so long as you don't go the the AMG bodystyling.

Yes, ski bag with through loading was an optional extra. The same gap can also host another option, the cool box, which is, if present, sited in that position.

Definitely - it's an evil concept:D
Oi.......
An S-class estate should be purchased to chauffeur a pedigree German canine to and from the beauty parlour or to the local night club. Surely one's driver would never have a need to lower the back seat, unless there was a need for some ca-poodling? (get it canoodling:rolleyes: :D )

:) The rear seats of our vehicle have never been lowered and neither has the mutt ever gone to any beauty parlour thingie. Hopefully I will remain on the list for an S-class estate? PLEASE :p

Good job you said that John, ca-poodling isn't legal.....
