....in response to a mate who scoffed at my suggestion that my car was relatively economical for a big V8.

So a wager of a full tank of V power was set if i could get back to London over a certain mpg.

The only rules were i couldn't change my standard route and i had to drive at the NSL (where safe) at all times as opposed to trying to drive down the M25 at 56MPH.

So i left just outside Buckingham at 5pm and headed down the road to Canary Wharf taking in my standard route of A/B/Urban/dual and motor way.

Here's how i did: 79 miles 34 MPG and some extra v power points:cool:

(Will try and upload a clearer pic)

Well done.

Out of curiosity - what was the mpg target set ?

That's very good. I would have said anything over 30mpg would be a tough target.

Will be interesting to see the mpg calculated from fill to fill.

best I ever got on my CLK55 (same car) ..

I've never seen a MPG figure starting with a 3 in the SLK. Actually, come to think of it, I struggle to do that in my 1.4 litre Fiat Panda.. :o

Cheers,

Gaz
