Evening all
I got a bit concern this morning when I had to add oil to my 320 ML163 and when lifted oil filler cap and there was quite a bit mayo.
Vehicle is used on short runs - avg 10-15miles which I know is not very healthy for motor. But I know for fact it is not loosing coolant (I think)...
First job I come to do on my, new to me, R107 and I fail!
I have a 1986 300SL (R107), I can't understand how I can undo the lower bolt on the dissy cap.
The top two have good access, no problem. The lower fixing can't be reached with a normal size Allen key socket, but an extension means your...

Just noticed one of my wheel caps is cracked in 3 places.
Has anyone got a spare or two of these lying around for the price of a pint and postage?
Cheers
Hi Guys,
I'm about to change an oil in my Mercedes and I can see that the access to oil filter cup is quite difficult. It will be nice to use a proper oil wrench (I believe it is 74mm/14 flutes for a M104 engine). Of course there is plenty of them on eBay but if anyone has got one around...

Having half filled the car with fuel yesterday evening (it is having the rear brake pipes replaced on Friday and the tank will need to be lowered) I could not get the filler cap to re-engage and lock.
Looking at the cap it was clear that the locking pins had rotated to the lock position and...
I regularly use CAP's free valuation service and was quite surprised to see a valuation difference in favour of a car with a lower spec.
I was checking out two CLS 320CDi's. One from Oct 2005, the other from Dec 2005. Both have some matching options:
sunroof
xenons
HK
parktronic...
The locking fuel cap on my 124 has stopped accepting the key to lock it. I've filled the key slot with oil in the hope of freeing up the mechanism.
Does anyone know how to remove the lock from the cap?

Hi all,
It looks like my drain hole for water / overspilt fuel around the fuel cap is blocked, since it is not draining.
What's the best thing to use to unblock it, a pipe cleaner?
Thanks...
Hi, so please let me know if you can sell me an OEM rear battery little red + terminal cap, I think it should have a large black sticker and say "supply battery" amongst other things, for a 2006 SL 55, can pay paypal, thanks
Does 2006 SL 55 come with a red battery + terminal rear boot battery cap? mine has not but instead has a large black cap over the whole of the rear battery, should it also have the red cap that has sticker on it that says 'supply battery'?

Hi everyone.
So I replaced distributor caps and rotors not long ago (few months). I opened them up the other day to see how they were going and I noticed that on the left hand distributor cap (and on the rotor point) there was quite a bit of green flaky oxidisation that had built up, not so...

When I say low, about 70,000 (it's a 98 with only 3 owners and a more or less a fsh), it also drove very good ie no noticeable clunks, knocks ect ect, really very smooth. To be honest, the only thing putting me off (and it's because I've been used to diesels for the last 3-4 years) is the higher...
