Hi all
I have just changed my track rod ends on our 2000 w163 ML270CDI and notice a slight leakage from the end seals on the steering rack.
Looking at the US websites it seems to remove and replace the rack that it is necessary to also remove the front drive shafts and front diff.
Does...
Hi I am looking to set up a retail website to run as a side business and wanted a bit of guidance.
I am in very early stages and just putting some ideas together, but would like to know if it's a long winded process to set up and run or straightforward.
Also what sort of set up costs am I...
My trusty SLK is approaching 30k miles and 7 years old, and the front brake pads were looking a bit wornm so I thought I'd give it a treat and replace them.
Buy the new disks and pads, make sure I've got the right tools and away I go.
Except. Challenge 1 is the wheel is welded to the hub. A...
My old car had the easy pack folding crate (as seen in the picture) and I'm trying to find one of similar quality. Any idea who makes the Mercedes ones or do I have to go to MB parts for it? Or do you know of other good quality ones that easily open/collapse? Seen some on tesco.com but I'm not...
OK so I have today undertaken the task of replacing my tatty aluminium trim on the centre console with a replacement item that I had carbon hydro dipped.
Having struggled with the cup holder blank cover I finally managed to get the old one out and moved all the switches etc. to the new one...
Hi all. Advice needed for my 1998 C280 Estate/stationwagen/break, r/h drive, auto box, petrol (owned for 16 happy years and counting).
I need to replace the corroded solid thin gearbox/transmission oil pipe which runs down from the top of the oil cooler beside the radiator (on the R/H...
Thought it was time to revert back to the CLS GE 18s after a rather pointless winter set (weather too good).
I really struggled to remove the wheels off the hubs in November, so cleaned the hub locators a bit as there was signs of rust.
I struggled just as much to remove the winter 17s as I'll...
Had car looked over an an injector seal is leaking. Obviously wants doing sooner rather than later but has anyone done one before and what tools would needed? I have a friend whos fairly useful with some things but hes never done an injector seal before. Hoping its not too far gone that head...
I believe my Duo Valve is faulty as there is very little heating although cooling is fine. If I were to find a used one can they be fitted fairly easily or do they need to be programmed to the car like an alarm module etc.
Any ideas of a good place to get one from?

I doubt it's cheap, but thinking more professional than personal use

Anyone seen this before?
Interesting as it's not on their UK site that I can see
KAP Diagnostics
I don't want a debate on whether they should be repaired or not, been done in many threads :thumb:
after my last thread was obviously too academic in question, i thought easier to ask - who has an easy load system fitted to their car that can help me measure the length of the cargo rail itself?
one measurement is all that is needed if anyone can spare the time to measure the metal rail...
Hi all,
I've had my W208 CLK320 for four months now. It's a lovely car and I've already spent £1400 on a gearbox service, full service, MAF and Crankshaft sensors, fog light lens etc etc at a local MB specialist.
Trouble is, is the suspension has bottomed out a couple of times recently...
As the anti glare liquid in my drivers side mirror has all but drained away, leaving the mirror cloudier than a Scottish summer, I've bitten the bullet and ordered a new replacement from MB. Almost had a seizure when they told me the price, but it had to be done.
Anyhow, is the glass easy to...
Having stripped out the interior of my w124 to dry it out and trace any further leaks I found a small split in the weld between the rear arch and the main body, under the rear seat. As per photo.
No idea if this a source of the leak or a symptom of it, but it needs fixing.
The strange thing is...
Question for Alfie/Richard, probably...
One of the most useful features on my R171 is that easy entry/exit puts the driver's seat back when getting out - particularly handy when there's not enough room to open the door fully in car parks. It also helps to prevent scuffing the seat bolsters...
A quick question about an 05 S320 Cdi (W220).
Assuming the car is locked and secure using the key and the car only has the factory-fitted alam/immobiliser, how easy or otherwise is it to steal said car without the key? E.g. break into the car, wreck the ignition cowling and hotwire it.
And...
I just wish to hear, how long does it take to download / upload some Mercedes software to a B200 / W246 ? (I am informed of some software update called / named 2FN ? )
