Fairly regularly get a slight hesitation in 1st gear when pulling off from stationary. Right foot is pressed to the floor and nothing happens for a split second ... then it connects. Checked fluid level manually ....its fine. Service book states oil changed once. Mileage now at 86K.

Brabus chip
Latest gearbox software
No fault codes
ATF changed at 38K
However, I still have an annoying delay which shows itself from standstill and again at kickdown.
Turbo lag?
Gearbox characterstic?
Normal?
More importantly - can it be eliminated?
ps - I'm not driving in C ;)
Hi All,
I am getting a bit lost on ideas now, and would appreciate any help.
I find the car hesitates when I put my foot down, there is a long pause then the car slowly starts picking up speed.
I changed the MAF for original bosh part, and spark plugs were changes in Nov 2010. I also...
Hi all,
Mt recently acquired R129 SL 280 has cut out on me 3 times (in the c. 300 miles I've done) and has a hesitation on pulling away. Of the 3 cut outs, one was while pulling away, the others were just after starting.
This appears more pronounced when cold, as I didn't notice it on the...
Hi - hopefully a simple quetion from a newbie. I have just bought a w211 320 CDI. There is howver a small problem - I have tried to RTF but couldn't find an answer.
When I accelerate (at a medium sort of pace) from relatively low revs there seems to be some slight hesitation - followed by a...
My 300ce 24v has slight hesitation when first starting from could for a few minutes. Once warm it is smooth as silk. Any ideas please. Somebody told me that these m104 24v engines require a slight modification to eliminate this problem. Any help will be thankfully received.
Had the chance today to give my newly acquired steed a bit of beans for the first time and have to say that I was really impressed by how goddam rapid it is, however, I seem to have a quite obvious flat spot at 4000 rpm. Up to 4k it goes like stink then it seems to, take a breath if you like...
Petrol 2005 A150 SE Classic with 22000miles. 5sp manual. Wife has owned from new and serviced ok.
Engine starting running rough 3 weeks ago with a hesitation that only cleared when the throttle pedal is lifted 90%. No warning lights etc visible. After 200 miles I was driving it to Merc...
Morning.
A friend of mine has a CLK (pre-facelift) 320 V6 Auto that hesitates at 4k rpm or there abouts, mostly seems to happen upon kick down but will do it sometimes when driven normally not using kick down.
I've suggested MAF problem or possible fuel filter? Any other suggestions, in case...
My 53 Sept '03 build C180K has been giving a slight slip-wouldn't say judder-it just feels like it is decoupling on and off for a micro second at about 30 odd MPH much like I had gone over a rough patch of tarmac. It sometimes takes a small while to engage reverse and can judder a little when...
Hi all,
My '03 E220 CDi has the following issues.
- Long starting
- at times idle goes up and down, at times it is fine.
- Acceleration is also poor. when I press the accelerator, i have to wait for the car to start moving - on higher revs its fine and reaches the rev limiter easily.
- poor...
I have a problem on one of the E36's. Bare in mind the engine is very similar to the e320 so any help would be much appriciated.
When driving at around 80mph, if you give it full throttle and kickdown, the car will go down the 3rd. The revs rise from 3000 to 3700rpm, when the gear is engaged...
Any ideas on cause of this please:
I took my girlfriend's late grandad's SL for a run today, it hadn't been started since late November (see this thread.) The battery was flat, despite being left garaged and on a trickle charger. One quick swap with the one from her grandma's C240, and after...

All,
I have a W209 CLK '05 320CDi. At idle the rev's are stable, but when driving at a constant speed you feel the car hesitate and the rev's fluctuate. I’ve only notice this recently. The vehicle has been serviced recently but could this be a fuel filter issue or something more sinister...
Hi I was wondering if anyone can give me a few pointers..
I own a W203 320cdi and the other night was taking friends to the theatre -- whilst pulling up a hill I put my foot down and there was a mild splutter - enough for my wife to ask why was I driving like that ...but no more until today...
It getting noticeable. I have a 2001 slk 200K. After I negotiated a three quarter turn on a roundabout, it seemed the engine missed a beat. It fuel injection right not those old fashion carburetor.
What the likely I need to look into it to rectify it?
I know the fuel filter is long overdue...
Over the last couple of weeks my car seems to have developed a longer delay from flooring it to kicking down. Also feels slower from a standstill. Moving acceleration stills feels ok though. Any ideas??
The problem seems to have got worse over the past few months, the cars been driven less than 1000 miles over this period.
It seems to have power at the bottom end, but not 100%, then it seems to hesitate further up the rev band (ie, revs stop increasing for a couple of seconds) and then puts...
