What is the common school of thought re the best paint brand to use for refinishing a 1996, 124's lower cladding?
I was thinking of getting the (Green Black 189) Cabriolet's lower skirt a freshen up to take care of the stone chips. PPG, Glasurit, Standox seem to be the approved methods? Is...
my new(to me) 1989 190e has advisorys on its MOT for lower ball joints.
I have never driven a 190e before and so I cant really judge whether the steering feels particularly odd, it is quiet in operation, and pretty evenly weighted if a bit heavy
Looking around it seems the parts are...
W211 / E class sport with the multi spoke Alloys where the rear ones are slightly smaller and wider than the front.
When looking at it side on it looks like its sitting lower at the rear than the front. I have seen other cars with the same sports pack and Wheels and they seem to sit level.

Hello everyone :bannana:
I had my first Mercedes now for 5 months and I am very happy. It is a E270CDI W211 (53).
I have finally got round to ditching my stock Audio 20 head unit and shipping in an Alpine ICS-X8 which I am very happy with. My Audio 20 was excellent quality for stock...
Hi guys.
I had to change the MAF about 3 weeks due to a blocked breather pipe that was causing oil contaminaction over the years and through constant cleaning it eventually died. I have now fixed the oil contamination and I bought a cheaper non genuine MAF from EuroCP first of all which to...
I have a got a clunking so I presumed either drop links or lower ball joints.
I put the car up on the ramp and the drop links look pretty new, so gave the wheels a wobble and the drivers side has a fair bit of play.
But looking on GSF and Eurocarparts I am not 100% sure which ones I...
Exhaust finally sorted and the dreaded rattling now gone via a Cat bypass by CKS in Watford.
On the way back i stopped at a petrol station and couldn't help noticing the car was a bit lop-sided towards the rear driver end.
I know a common theme with these SL' are that the front suspension...

I just took my car to a shop to have the lower ball joints and lower control arm bushings replaced and the car drives incredibly well now, almost like brand new. Very solid, all the shimmy-ing, violent steering wheel shakes over bumps and holes, high speed instability, wandering, excessive...
Hello,
Well After having my CLS for a few months, I think it's time for a few mods, I'm rather tired of the black lower grille on the AMG front bumper and am after something made of SS.
Does anyone know where to get one or get one made up? With some material similar to this:
Stainless...
For about a year now I've experienced lower back pain if I've had to drive anywhere for more than about an hour.
It's agony in the car, but as soon as I get out and stretch my back it's fine - until I get back into the car!
I was blaming the knackered seats and coilover suspension in my 3...

Hi guys
I need your help.
Today, I brought my 2001 w203 c200 to the local garage to do the MOT testing and they found the fault on both of the Front suspension arm bushes.
They told me I need to replace the whole arms as well and it will cost nearly 200 pounds each side including the labour...
Has anyone had any experience with pattern lower wish bones on thier W210?
I'm guessing the downside will be larger tolerances which will affect alignment and handling, lighter materials and weaker bushing material affecting wear and handling. Or am I wrong?
I've been quoted £124.ea new ones...
MOT tester failed my S211 today due to as he put the lower rubber being split. On examination, the rubber is not split but cracked and nothing that would cause grease to leak etc.
Where do I stand with this? Can I contest?
The joint was only changed in october last year.
Just had my e320 cdi sport springs and NSF lowerball joint replaced outside my house as the springs had snapped and couldnt get the car moved anywhere. However now that the springs are fitted the steering feels a lot heavier than before takes a bit of effort to turn the wheel however the power...
Hello
Sorry to make another thread of this type but I am trying to choose between 2 cars and need some input from fresh brains.
Car A: 1999 @ 75,000 miles and FSH
Car B: 2003 @ 130,000 and FSH
The older car A has good condition cloth and few "toys", but less to go wrong in my book...
