Stupid question perhaps but never replaced a starer motor on any car before. Does wheezing mean it's dying or could it be something else altogether? Car still starts OK, just makes a different (wheezey) noise as it does it. How hard is it to fit a new one, any one know? TIA.

Does anyone know the best way to get to the starter motor on a CL600 to see if 12v is getting to the solenoid. Is it best to access from above or below? Also I’ve been told it’s on the passenger side (UK model) but pictures I’ve seen look like it’s on drivers side. Any help much appreciated.

Hi folks. Had an issue with my ML55 in that clicking noises could be heard from behind the centre vents. The upshot was that according to the STAR the motor that controls the centre flap was faulty. So i purchased a new one and managed to fit it myself....no easy task with the airbag etc...

My fan stops and starts as it feels like. Also will cut out straight away if turned up to full speed. Have checked connection and all appears fine. Don't think it's a resistor pack as all speeds work except full. Any ideas?

The blower has become noisy, sounds like a dry bearing. The vents/drains are all clear, and no error codes registered, so it sound like the motor needs a clean and lubricate. So, how do I remove the motor - seems to be stuff saying it's easy or hard, depending where you look! Anyone any...
