Hi, Does the glow plug light on a Mercedes Vito 1999 have a dual function? I.e. That the light is indicating that there is a problem with the engine that has nothing really to do with the glow plugs or its associated parts. Or is it just for issues on the glow plug circuit?. Thanks.

Well here's the issue, From cold the glow plug light will come on and go out and the car will fire up instantly and runs sweet. But then around and 40 seconds later the Glow plug light will come on for around a 60 seconds then go out and not return till the next cold start. No codes found...

Got a new 722 plug and from what I have read nobody says you have to drain the gearbox 1st... So my question is, if I just remove the old plug...will all (or just a bit/or how much) of the auto box oil come out? I know most do a full gearbox service at the same time but, if not broke don't fix...

Anyone got these parts surplus, or breaking a car? They're for my 240td but I think a 5 cylinder 300d glow relay will also fit. I'll add the part numbers later. Cheers.
