Has anyone noticed that the seats tilt forward electically when the release handle is pulled when the doors are shut? I find this odd as this brings no use nor makes sense.

It would make sense if the electric movement is applied when the doors are open? Instead i can tilt the seats forward manually without the help of the electric motor.

Shed light?

Known that for years, but never been able to get a decent answer why. With the doors closed it's awkward to get to the the handle anyway.

Glad its a 129 trait then, I was starting to think my seats were not working properly!

...but it is an odd movement..unless its somthing to do with convenience for when the roof is down and you want to tilt the seats forward for whatever reason without having to open the door?

This might explain why i have (and most facelift 129 door cards i have seen) have light chaffing down the sides as the release handle seems to brush against it once it is pulled....

Maybe, but you could just as easily use the door controls, and opening the door is a lot faster!

The only reason I could think of is for unassisted exit from the rear, but as it only seems to move the backrest and not the base you'd still struggle to reach the door handle.
