e200 cdi sport
Hi guys,

I want to find out if anyone that has a E200 cdi has had it remapped?
I no alot of you will think I should have gone for the E220/E250 but the E200 cdi sport was within my budget.
Could anyone reccomend someone in essex area?
Also what are the downsides?
My brother has a 530d and when he looked into remap was told ideally the DPF should be removed but this will result in alot more smoke/soot.
Look forward to your guys advise

I'm about to have a quantum remap on 270 cdi, will post findings in a week or two, but have seen a few guys on here happy with quantum - they have guys all over the uk and bound to have a plethora in the south east.

You should see around extra 20hp at least, probably 25 plus an increase in economy.

Removing the DPF is a bit like going for a st8 cut exhaust, yes you will ultimately get better thru flow on the exhaust, but at what expense - you now have a compromised exhaust that doesn't do some of the other jobs it is meant to. That is the sort of mod for someone who is looking to eek out every bit of power and is not in any way worth it on a diesel where it might make a 2 or 3% difference at the top end of the revs which is a place you will rarely be anyway in a diesel.

I've been looking into remapping the c200 cdi that I have, I'm more interested in getting a standard 220 map (or even a tuned one) put on my car as I have done a lot of research and there appears to be absolutely no difference between the 200 and 220 non Blue Eff models (W204007 and W204008).

Unless anyone can tell me any different?

Oh almost forget, most remappers advise to remove the DPF as they are often seen as an expensive "consumable" given the high rate of failure of them on some vehicles......
