2017 Honda Civic Type R

I’ve driven one of these, honestly it’s a cracking car. I honestly think down some twistys on real road not much will keep up with one of these.just a shame about the looks . I’m thinking long and hard about replacing my m5 with one of these

I'm sure they are a lot of fun to drive, it's just that the styling is a bit Marmite.

Type R was interesting last Sunday. However, not keen on the steering, as it feels very artificial. Accurate, but not much feel. Engine also a bit boosty for my liking. Very dull engine/exhaust noise. Boomy at motorway speeds. High-speed cornering stability is excellent however. Didn’t manage to drive it on many winding roads.

Feels big too. And at normal speeds, feels like standard hatchback.

I prefer the Lotus Elise.

Unfair to compare to GT3, but it’s like Burger King and Hawksmooor.

Type R is impressive for what it is. But I have been completely spoilt by the GT3. Nothing much stands a chance unless it’s more money .. even then. The rawness and the grumpiness is unbeatable.

The older FD2 would perhaps stand a better comparison there. The FKs are very quick, but a little soft in some respects to be easier to live with everyday.

worth a look

They're quite rare, import only and a short production run in Japan. Hopefully you'll be able to find a good one to try.

Just not this one. It was mine from new and I drove the wheels off it :D

From that side view it ain’t gonna win a beauty pageant.

nothing like a naturally aspirated VTEC screamer engine
