Hi

I've received the response from Germany

If we buy one at a time, it is 220 Euros, and 24 Euro p&p to UK

If someone buys 5, its 1050 Euros + 24 Euros p&p to UK. (i.e 215 Euros each, but the postage charge is still 24 Euros.

I think the postage charge will be 24 Euros even for 10

Floodq - can I introduce you to the German MB dealer via email and let you co-ordinate for everyone ? PM me your email address if that is OK

I dont know if they will take credit cards, or need bank transfer - I would suspect that on the larger order, they need bank transfer because of the size of the transaction (and cardholder is not present)

I was there in the very late 60's early 1970's before it became commercialised. Oh what memories. R & R has NEVER been the same.

What a beautiful island and what fantastic people.

Why on earth would you need DVD navigation??

Seriusly now, Greece used to be (an my guess is that still it is) purely mapped from MB... This is why, I am asking all these questions..

BTW, with this new firmware upgrade, do U have any idea, if the DVD player will (at last) be able to paly MP3's ??? Because, rumours says that it is a hidden capability....

OK, so this new 6.1 works with COMAND in several Mercedes classes. What about the E class? Couldn't see that as being supported by 6.1.

Anyone know if there'll be a similar update from the 5.0 for the E class?

I'm debating whether to go for the 5.0 DVD or wait for something newer.

Wait for something newer....

Version 5 has only recently been released for the E-class. It is a completely different package. If you continually wait for something new, then you will never buy anything

Version 5 can be purchased for a very reasonable price on E-bay.

V5 was released in December !!

V6 (I now have a reasonable confirmation) should be released in July. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Am I right in believing that NAVTEQ (who do NOT supply the vehicles on this thread) give regular updates to car manufacturers, then they in turn release periodic updates? Mercedes-Benz usually try to keep it down to two a year???

Yes, I'm running it in my A class (V6.1) - got it from Germany - work back through the thread, theres a bulk order going on.

Do not buy it from a UK dealer, its going to be a rip-off.

I'll post direct contact details to the German dealer once the bulk order is done - or, if you are not in UK, PM me and i'll put you in contact - no point in shippng disk to UK then on out of the UK

What is new on VER 6?

Ver 6 for A/B/C/CLK/ML/GL/R/forfour has TMC for UK , and it warns you a bit earlier, and a I guess a load of bug fixes.

Was there a V5 for the A/B/C/CLK... or just the E/CLS/SL/S/CL ? If it is for A/B/C/CLK can you post the part numbers please (both Becker and MB part nrs)

A quick update for those interested. I have ordered 5 DVD's and sent payment via Bank transfer which can take up to 5 working days. The German Dealer should then send them. Once I have them I'll put up how much it will be (basically cover my costs, I'm not looking to make anything on these) and the first 4 who want one can have them. I expect to put them in a jiffy bag and send special delivery so it's recorded and insured. I'll accept bank transfer or Paypal, though paypal will have a surcharge to cover their fees.
