No idea what is different, but current release V6.1 Europe part numbers are B6 782 3641 A169 827 3359

Right thanks for everyone's patience.

I have now received the DVD's (arrived this morning). I have put one in and it did a firmware upgrade for the first 5 minutes then seems just the same as the old version although my street now exists which it didn't do on V4.0 then again it was only built last year. Bit disapointed I couldn't see any delays on the roads this morning so I can see those yellow and red cars indicating delays but hopefully (can't believe I'm saying this) I'll get caught in traffic Monday morning.

Anyway I now have 4 factory sealed V6.1 DVD's up for grabs. I have had two requests so far (trevor_tyrrell and italiano) so they have first refusal at the price so whatever I have at least 2 more available.

Price - they cost me £153 each so add on £10 for postage & packing and I'll take £163. If you want one please PM me and I'll reply to those successful and confirm either my paypal address or bank details for a bank transfer for whatever you want to do. Had a look at paypal and can't see any fee's they would charge me so the price is the same for either method.

Thanks

Hi Ive a 2000 model S320, I dont know what model command system I have but it only covers the UK mainland and Im in Ireland. The disk supplied is a Blaupunkt Travel pilot Great Britain dx 2002. I searched for a TMC station but none could be found. Does anyone know what CD I could use to upgrade?

You need to buy a DX compatable disk, specifically with TMC - see www.navshop.com for the latest, or ebay for older ones.

I recieved a new DVD Command 6.1 (thanks floodq) this morning 1st thing and put it in my C class , it shows up the yellow and red cars, but no voice prompts.... I looked and could not find any settings for this?

Another thing...

Before at the bottom of the map, I would get the Satellite identity and how many feet above sea level I was, as well as map co ordinates.

Since Upgrading to this DVD and with this latest firmware, these readings/info have disappeared !!

Is it just my car or is the same for others who are using the 6.1 Version DVD ?

Maybe I have to set something... but I cant seem to see for the life of me what ?

Any help here appreciated m8.

Thanks

Al

I dont know about the voice prompts, but the voice prompt volume could be turned down ?
The satellite reading thing was on an menu setting on V4, so I guess it is on V6 - but I havent looked on V6 as I prefer that off

Voice prompts can be turned off when in navi mode.

When the voice says 'calculating your route' etc - press and hold down mute. After a couple of seconds you'll get a message saying voice has been disabled.

Unfortunately you have to do it at every use.

The voice prompts work fine on mine. One thing I did notice is she no longer says at roundabouts "take the 3rd exit on the left" i.e turn right, she now just says "take 3rd exit" so that's one improvement straight away. Like Italiano I also have lost the how many feet above sea level bit but then I guess the map screen is now bigger without it. I'll have to have a play as all I have done is put it in without changing any settings.

Thanks to floodq for sourcing me a fantastic new V6.1 DVD! You can now have your est time of arrival (ETA) and distance to travel shown on the map screen (Soft buttons -> Display -> Map) or the Satellite info as before, or nothing. This improvement was long overdue IMO.

You can see all TMC messages or just those on your route in text by pressing TMC on the softbuttons, and there are some other small improvements. The map data is clearly more up to date too.

Great upgrade

I'd also like to thank Floodq for his initiative in sourcing the 6.1 disks.

Mine upgraded fine, but lost my destination memory whilst retaining my previous destinations but would not allow me to input the same destinations into the memory! Very strange.

A couple of restarts and it sorted itself out by deleting all data (not a problem) but now allows me to monitor the traffic jams on the M25 (and there are a few) I look forward to not having the little lady telling me to turn when I already have.

Just noticed that the signal strength for the telephone sitting in the wired in telephone cradle is not registering on the comand ie the bars are there but not coloured(again not a major problem)

@ TT following: The ETA was always there, and still is, on the info button I guess you refer to the in display version.

Just returned from a trip from Suffolk to west Wales. The system works well, although some jams that have already cleared still show on the screen. We did get some good re-routes around jams (eg M6 Jct 0 where you slip off onto the A14 - always a problem but now I know a good diversion!). Other re-routes were automatically cancelled when a blockage cleared before we got to it.

The best is the ETA which re-calculates all the time, allowing for slow traffic, and gives you a really accurate time of arrival.

Thanks for all the thanks though it was Richard who found the friendly German Dealer. However I got mine cheaper as well so everyone is happy.

Glad to see that everyone thinks it's a worthwhile upgrade (as I do). I find it has been useful for looking ahead on my way to work and if I see a delay on the motorway I come off a junction early. It was pot luck before as you couldn't see the queue until you were in it. I too like the ETA and miles to go on the main display instead using the info button, certainly more useful than altitude and number of satelites which I had before.

cheers.

Yes the upgrade is well worth it. I regularly travel on th M1 and M25 and it has already saved me lots of time.

Just went into Central London today and there are lots of Red cars about.

The ETA and distance are also a boon.

By the way don't know if any one else has noticed a symbol that appears which is not in the symbol list ... it for a Bank/Cash Point. You can not select or deselect it.

Still gets a roundabout wrong near Bozeat in Northamptonshire (thinks it's a left turn). Iterestingly my wife's v5.1 gets it right ... oh well :o

You're right - I can't see how to unselect the Cash points either.

AND - what it the "Company Branch" option? (-> Display -> Symbol -> Change ->) I was hoping that this wouold display stored work address, but it doesn't. Do you need the built-in telephone I wonder?
