A lot of car for not a lot of money

ad states that it has "every concevable extra"...... thats wrong! no keyless go, no rear privacy glass, no rear electric reclining/heated seats, no parktronic, no soft close doors, no wooden steering wheel, no rear climate control settings........ and thats just from what i can see

I do hate that.

At least if it has a lot of stuff, you can sort of overlook it but not when it has bugger all.

It does seem good value though despite that.

how can you tell it hasn't got soft close doors ??

Advert would most likely state. i guess that was wrong of me to say as it was an assumption as rest of the car seems pretty low spec

I thought you had spotted something on the rear door and could tell by looking, i was thinking ,bloody hell he's sharp.:D

my uncle has a 2002 S320 CDI facelift and that doesnt have soft close doors. it has a soft close bootlid tho.... my cousin as an 2002 pre facelift S280 and as far as i can remember that doesnt have softclose doors. maybe they came as standard on the 500's but this one is pretty low specced :dk:

mine has every option apart from tv center and pulse seats in the back. but the list on mine compared to that is massive. Ive listed my on fleebay prob missed loads like parking sensors etc. TBH cant be ****d selling it, but i have to.
Have you seen what range rovers for 10-12k are like? Overpriced tatty most of them.

if i could afford ur S600 i would buy it off ya... the 500SEL is expensive enough to run tho hahaa.! i dont blame ya id have the merc over a rangey any day!

someone asked me why cant you tow with the s600.
You can, but on a muddy field with 500bhp through the back wheels and horse and box you wont move anywhere. Might plough the field though.
Didnt know about side blinds, mine has them. To be honest it one of those options that once you have them, they are brilliant. Its like having tinted glass when you want it and take it off when you dont, its also brilliant for anyone watching dvds on the headrest on a sunny day. The picnic tables are pretty pants tbh but i suppose other people would use them.

ive noticed most sellers state it has every optional extra because;

1. they cant be bothered to list it properly,
2. they are lyng to get people to buy it,
3. compared to the rubbish they drive mercs have lots of switches so it must have every optional extra?

it annoys me and sometimes I think about pulling them up on it but then I think it would be a full time job and I already have one of those!

yeah u would defo need a 4x4 for muddy fields mate!
haha yeah the blinds are awesome. my W126 doesnt have any blinds actually as obviously the option wasnt ticked :( maybe i'll retro fit em in in the future

The picnic tables on the W140 felt a lot more robust than on the W220
