I remember driving through Glen Fruin at the end of my first trip to Scotland before heading on to Blackpool to see the lights. I seem to remember doing a painting of it as well.

Thanks for the photos. Faslane looks smaller than I would have expected. Surprising it is said to be so difficult to move the facility to England if it becomes necessary.
It's not large. Compared with Devonport it feels quite cosy.
However there is more to its location than the berths visible in ***'s pic. Apart from some operational aspects of its location which would have an impact there is also another nearby facility at Coulport which is rather significant to one of the activities at Faslane.
Come touring in Scotland, its ace. I am debating going on tour today, certainly might walk up a few hills and take in the air, not sure about a drive....yet

I will have just the thread for you in ten days, or on facebook
My route will take me to the Kyle of Lochalsh, then Applecross, Ulapool and Durness.
Weather wise, I will either cross the north coast, or cut down at Tounge to Bonnar Bridge. From here I will aim for Tomintoul and Braemar, then onto Crieff via Pitlochary...
Thanks for your kind words. A cheap ND filter was used to allow a slow shutter speed of six secs, hence the milky water with a narrow apperture to get a good back to front sharpness in the picture.
Please come on my forum grand tour. Epic driving and scenery. I'm by no means a photographic expert but with scenery like what is near by, it's impossible not to leavelwith.something nice.
