A Vmax type event.

the stupid thing is, there has been no strike called, they have said today, that even if they do strike, it wont be until after easter!

as an aside, one of my support crew is bringing a 996GT3 or an RS4, he gives a very swift passenger lap if anyone wants one. Do it before you eat though!

I've just heard on the radio that there won't be any strike after all.

I managed to fill up but had to drive in circles around Milton Keynes as half the petrol stations are either closed or have only diesel or regular petrol. V-Power and BP Ultimate are hard to come by.

Parked up now waiting for tomorrow!

Just to remind that at least two of us, I and JohnEBoy, are meeting at the Newport Pagnell Services M1 between J14 and 15 - here - @ 0730. Anybody who is travelling in that direction is welcome to join us and convoy up to the venue.

I hope to you join you at 7:30

I have managed to get some fuel.

See you all in the morning.

Olly

I'm full and ready. I might have to drive like a nun there and back to have any juice to burn at the track, but I'll be there!

Cheers,

Gaz

Good, it would of been a shame to have all that work done and then not give it a good run.

A challenge if ever I heard one! Bring it on!!:D

Ha Ha I thought you would be up for it ;)

It's my cars swan song, I've just picked up my knew car today, so I will be taking it steady, which is all the cars used to the way I drive it lol

Does anyone know if Acid/BRABUSK8 is going to make it his car looked someway off completion last week

Any update on the cars do far pictures and video s

cant wait to see the pics and times, would have loved to have been there if it wasnt for work :(

Thanks again to Ricky and Craig for sorting the day.

Thanks also to Mike for using his STAR to explain my loss of power at 140mph, what a day for my intercooler pump to fail!:wallbash:

Still, others had bigger problems...

Having said that it was a good day, fast cars and friendly people.

Same time next year?

Well, it makes a change for me to be home before most others....helps that Brunters is just 20 minutes from home!

Anyway, a BIG thank you to Craig and especially Ricky for organising this...Ricky, I know it's not easy but this wouldn't have happened without you so you should be proud of pulling all this together for such a great day :thumb:

I was delighted by my XKR's performance although it seemed a bit of a non event given it was sat for about 1/4 of the run at it's 174mph limiter :roll eyes:

Anyway, even better was when I borrowed Nudenuts's vbox (thanks Nigel...much appreciated!) and found my car did 60mpoh in just 4.2 seconds and 100mph in 9.2 seconds...not bad for an out the box XKR and well ahead of Jaguar's claims. I reckon how it hooked up off the line was phenomenal for a rear wheel drive car so all in all, I was thrilled by the results.

Nigel...thanks also for the ride in the R8 - absolutely cracking car which seemed to be one the fastest all day? It certainly can corner too - although your confidence in it helps a lot!

My most silly moment was forgetting that my car actually needs fuelling to actually work. This was until one of my friends had to tell me that I couldn't do anther run due to my range being at 1 mile! Thanks to Benjy for delicately following me to the petrol station which seemed so much further away with zero miles showing on the dash! Thanks also for allowing me a trip down memory lane with a brief drive of the C63....I still love 'em!

No pics from me I'm afraid but judging by the big tool that Simon had (no, not that....I'm talking about his camera), there will be plenty of awesome pictures posted shortly!

Just back from this event and would firstly like to thank Ricky, Craig and others that helped to put this special event on, it was definitely a tick-in-the-box for me as I haven't done an event like this before.
I managed 181mph twice so think there is very little more to find, funny moment was thinking that because the speedo stopped at 160mph the car did too:doh: scary moment, I had two, first was losing my front splitter at 170mph and watching bits fly in my rear view mirror, second was going into the first corner with Alan in his gold v12 sl600, man I thought he was in the bank for sure:eek:
Loved the cars on display, didn't manage to get a passenger run in a Maclaren or Ferrari, better look next time maybe:roll eyes:
Thanks again for a great day out:devil:

Just got back too.

Thanks to Ricky for organising the event. Had a great time. Managed 162MPH and 0-60 in 5.1. Not bad for a 12 year old 202!

Supercharger is next......
