A Vmax type event.

Thanks especially to Ricky but also to all involved, great day out and a great experience. What a line up!

I was never going to trouble anyone on the leaderboard, but was pleased to see 160 (on the clock at least) with plenty of runway left before the lights. Time to start saving for a de-limit .

Cheers,

Gaz

Fan-tabulous day, just back myself left a bit early as needed fuel so thought it made sense. No matter what I did I couldn't eek more than 181 out of the old bus. She would go on and on but just couldn't get around the bend at the bottom anywhere near quick enough next time I will put on my monster Brabus alloys which should give me a bit more grip.

Still, I was frankly amazed at the standing starts it managed for it's 2,300 kg's. I fluffed plenty, and over egged plenty just to watch the smokescreen unfold in the rear view mirror ;) but with the right hookup it went like stink. Completely forgot about the VBOX's on offer d'oh!!!

Matt's McLaren stole the show for me. I couldn't believe how quick that was on the main straight, absolutely unbelievable!!

Great to see a few familiar faces and hope to see you all again on the 19th May at Goodwood. Many thanks again to Ricky for organising it, you are a star!

Home too - was a first timer and me and the lad loved it. I was a bit of a quiet nancy boy but managed 165 on last run. Couldn't help myself slowing down as soon as I saw the braking point in the distance. Car had oodles left in it, and will be more confident next time, both cornering and on the straight.

Thanks JohnEBoy. Fastest I've ever gone in a car was yours. The vid looks ok, but I ain't no Spielberg.

And thanks to Ricky and the others for making it such a great day. Nice to see so many friendly folk and fantastic cars. See you next time!

Cheers

Tim & Matt

Oh one thing, would appreciate if people could post up some of the stuff from Facebook on here. I can't access it unfortunately. Vids, pics, results etc would be great!

Awesome day, Big thanks to Ricky and Craig.
I'm glad it didnt rain!

Think we ran together. No need to post the one of your passenger pointing his camera backwards at me is there ;) Great sounding car BTW :thumb:

Gents,

You were a great bunch. I will write more later but a big thank you for your superb turn out, behaviour and respect for the event.

Photos up on the vmax200 Facebook page, more will go on VMax - Index soon.

We got some great shots and video footage and some of the aerial shots were awesome.

Great show all.

Craig

Yes, I'd again like to thank the chaps for organising - very well organised event and went brilliantly I thought. Some great people there - I spoke to a fair few.

It's the first time I've done something like that and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Filling up with VPower at Newport Pagnell as the pump was struggling was interesting...

and found my car did 60mpoh in just 4.2 seconds and 100mph in 9.2 seconds...not bad for an out the box XKR and well ahead of Jaguar's claims

This is exactly what I got using the Racelogic (IIRC) box as well - not bad for a 7 year old E55K!

Went on to do 172.2mph confirmed by 'box' but my speedo was reading 51mph when the box showed 50mph so fairly accurate and I hit early 170s everytime after the first run where I chickened out and braked too early.

I think 175mph was achievable but not more with that length of runway. I understand 183mph was top. (for E55Ks)

Couldn't help myself slowing down as soon as I saw the braking point in the distance. Car had oodles left in it, and will be more confident next time, both cornering and on the straight.

I got home at 17:20 I think.

Thanks for taking the clip considering I was the div who forgot my camera! The two clips I did of mine late last year where definitely no Spielberg either... The car doesn't half move around when your nailing it!

I hope the unwell Mercs get sorted without too much trouble...

It was great to finally put some faces to names and meet some of the regulars - thanks again for an enjoyable day!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the pictures (in particular the proper photographer ones) and clips.

I think the white Ferrari was quickest in the end wasn't it?

Thanks to Ricky and the crew at Vmax what a fantastic day, weather was perfect for all of the forced induction cars which means at times it was f*&king freezing. I did not get many pics as I had a card corrupt on me so not many mercs sorry!

Monaro at 199 was quickest fellas, 20mph Headwind didn't help, you should congratulate yourselves

I concur and would like to thank my pal Ricky and Craig for a brilliant and amazing day. It's was great to see so many friends and familiar faces but also some awesome and exceptional pieces of machinery. To my friends Nudenut and Palmball for allowing me the pleasure of driving two of the most amazing cars today and to Nudenut in his R8 for giving us all a noise that only thunder cold replicate.... Amazing. Look wise for me has to be my pals Jag XKR R.... LOVE THAT CAR!

Big thanks to Si for trusting me enough at allowing me to drive him at ridiculous speeds, thanks buddy.

Matt, Acid, Paul Lopez Alex and Marty always a pleasure guys and hope we all catch up again soon and hope to see some good you tube vids on here Marty.

I managed to keep my times pretty consistent and don't think I let the C63 contingent down on here. Managed to keep her around the 175 mph mark pretty much. Just the peppering of stone chips on the bonne was probably my only gripe, buy hey great day, great company, great fun.

Cheers guys
Benjy

Hello all! Very nice to meet you all (or at least a good few of you) today. I've just started looking at the photos from the day and there are lots of nice ones as you'd hope when I took over 1000 photos.

Here are two photos I've actually had a chance to look at so far to give you an idea of the level of photos to expect. I'll be going through the photos this evening and probably all of tomorrow.

Craig & I agreed that we will be selling high resolution photos for £50 for 3 photos or £20 each. If you might be interested, please drop me a quick email with your car, colour and reg to george@gfwilliams.net and I'll fast track your photos and get back to you as soon as possible with some proofs :)

And the dark horse of the day....Palmball's Jag - wow that was quick (with a heated steering wheel too!):

I also have some HD video of the white R8 racing the white GT-R which had a surprising result.

I also felt sorry for those guys who had blow-ups and Palmball as the front of his car was obliterated when a competitor crossed lanes in front of him

Great to meet those I did, and sorry to not meet those I didn't.

Another fantastic Vmax event so thank you to Ricky, Craig, the safety team and everyone that gave me passenger runs when my car gave up on me. And a special thank you to Mike who read the fault codes on my car and was very nearly a shoulder to cry on and also thanks olly for the rough ride back to the start line :D I managed 32mpg on the way home doing 50mph so not all bad.

I didnt get to meet everyone but met a few new faces and had a really great time.

Highlights for me was 191mph in potty mouth lopes's E55 (jeez ive got some editing to do to correct your language, you was clearly excited) and a run in Nigels ultra fast Audi

Im now off out for a meal with the wife to get her drunk then tell her the cars going back to my indie next week for some work.

Ive got nearly 100 vid clips to sort through  but heres a quick one before I sort through the others
