AMG Bonnet Badge

Doing the same buddy 👍 was going with the black wreath instead of the blue but now looking at your Affalterbach, I quite like it.

Today I stuck on an S, cheeky but no harm, I might told off though 😁

Looking good!

I read that the AMG bonnet badges didn't sit flush and it was suggested to use 3M tape - was that not the case with the part number you used above?

Does it sit flush or is it proud and did it need any tape/adhesive?

There are a couple of versions out there. The part from the W206/Facelift W177 has two prongs on the back which needed to be cut off hence the tape. It's also slightly smaller. This is A0008170708

The badge from the W223 S class is a perfect fit, same size as the original star and same fixing. This is A0008170608

These bonnet badges do they fit perfectly on older cars like w202 and w210?

I've got a old version but getting the latest one as in post 1. Will look great

Old ones look like this 48c7b730096b5f50330f106d69c82575.jpg20230324_151945.jpg

Idiot question, do you just prise the original badge up with a plastic trim tool?
then push the new one in till it clicks
kc
No need for any trim tool. Just open the bonnet and pinch the tabs on the back of the existing badge and push it will pop up. Then push the new one in and it will click into place.

Ordered the bonnet badge online via MB Genuine Parts and received the following reply which came from MB in Edinburgh (no idea why as I live in central London), anyone else had this? -

Good Morning, im afraid im going to have to cancel this, merc have blocked this part for sale, i have refunded.
apologies for this.

Maybe to keep the brands integrity but does sound a bit extreme as you appear to have an AMG car

They asked for my registration number to verify the model (w205 C63s Coupe), a reason why would have been nice.

Maybe contact MB Head Office (Milton Keynes) not MB dealer and speak to customer service to see how to resolve this issue

Try MB Newcastle see what they say
