Thanks for the itinerary Chris .

I maybe travelling a day before with wifey ( babysitters permitting ) or a co pilot & first stop perhaps Luxembourg ( approx 4.5hours from Calais ) just takes the edge off too much travelling in one day .

Then next day travel the to Affalterbach for stop over on the 2nd July, do a bit of sightseeing as should get there in good time during afternoon. Then continue with Chris's itinerary .

On the way back me,Alex & co will probably do atleast one stop over again as Berchesgadens( end of Alpine route ) is 11hours away from Calais .

As Chris mentioned he will be heading Up North after the trip , so any parties want to join me , Alex head back at a leisurely pace then no problem , We will add an extension onto Chris's itinerary .

The more the merrier . :D

How many guys taking the Mrs? Some great sights to be seen along the Alpine routes & I'm thinking do I ? Don't I ...

Will have to be tame with my right foot however , if she comes :eek:
 
I'm stopping over in Berchtesgaden for a night as well, chill with a few Beers in the sunshine :)
 
Is there any good car washes on the way Chris ? I only like driving a clean car :rolleyes:

Otherwise il be out there every morning with me foam gun :D
 
Maybe I should have already asked this, does your standard comprehensive insurance policy cover Europe?

Ash, I just hope I don't get any stone chips, scratches, swirls or dings. My CL will be immaculate by July. If you are taking car washing goodies then that will ease some of the pain that mileage will have on my paintwork. :D

Itinerary
Day 1 2nd July

Those further North to drive down to M1 Leicester Forest East Services (Southbound :rolleyes: )for an 08:00hrs meet
From there down to Toddington Services for an 09:30 meet.
Travel to Ashford Eurotunnel eta 11:30

Book your Tunnel Crossing for the Midday to 13:59hrs slot so we all travel together. My car is very low to the ground with no issues but it is fairly tight width ways so take your time driving on the train to final parking spot.

Once on the other side, we will drive approx. 1 mile on the A16 to the Calais BP Station located on the D119. Quick snack and fuel and we carry on to our 1st nights Hotel in Germany.

Route from Calais to Affalterbach is approx 470miles (750km) and should take no more than 7hrs with a 1 hour pit stop. ETA Hotel 21:30hrs

Day 2 3rd July

Breakfast 08:00-10:00hrs

AMG Factory 11:30-14:00hrs

14:00hrs set off for Lindau (Lake Constance) ETA 16:30hrs
Meet at Aral Service Station (102ron fuel :D ) off jnc 2 A96

Fuel and drinks and then off we go on the Alpine Route
Driving the German Alpine Road / Deutsche Alpenstrasse

2nd night Hotel is approx. 2hrs drive so should arrive around 19:00hrs
Home | Hotel Sonne Füssen im Allgäu near Neuschwanstein

Day 3 4th July

09:00hrs Breakfast
10:00hrs Resume Alpine Route which is another 220miles non Autobahn
15:00hrs Arrive Berchtesgaden

If all are in agreement, sightseeing followed by 3rd night in Hotel

All need to book your own Eurotunnel tickets (£75 each way)

Once Ash has all the confirmed personnel, we can book the Hotel in Affalterbach (1st night) and also the Hotel Sonne Füssen in Allgäu (2nd night)

Day 4 5th July

Travel own route back as I will be heading up to Northern Germany

Again, this is a provisional itinerary and needs to be agreed upon. Any feedback, ideas, changes please feel free to pm Ash, Alx or myself

Just remember the c63 has a small fuel tank and if you "nipping" along you will be looking at regular fuel stops :crazy:
 
I stayed in Hotel Sonne Füssen before and it's ok. However a bit tight with parking. When I arrived at 19.00 there was no parking space available.

Mine is, her right foot will be embedded if i don't tame mine.
