Yep - does seem to be mainly C43s? I guess in proportion to the number made (a few hundred) a few gearbox failures is still quite low overall.
I do remember Alps had a gearbox pack up on his C36 a few years back, and other than the Glycol issue on newer models (C32s with Valeo rads etc) they don't seem to be any more problematic than regular cars?
I guess rust is more of a worry to me than the chance of a gearbox failing - the rust is almost guaranteed where as a mechanical fault is more likely bad luck and less common.
