Been looking at these and thought I'd ask if anyone has owned one or had any experience of one.

What were your thoughts and is it the King of Kings as I've read on some forums.

I'm asking because I'm thinking of either an S65 or E63, I know they are both different leagues. There are none close to me either to go check out.

Cheers

Does a S63 not float your boat? Much easier on the wallet come service time and living with it on a daily basis I'd have thought.

I've already had an E63 and the S63 being heavier won't be as nippy I'd have thought.

The newer one comes with the Biturbo W221 facelift I think, the W222 that's out my budget.

The Biturbo is also avail in the CLS and E so was just thinking the S65 might be a good shout.

Living with an S65 I have no idea that's why I was wandering if anyone had any thoughts or experience.

what they like reliable, running costs, Selling time will be a nightmare, or if there's any alternatives etc etc

you know what you want!;)

Lol I'm trying to get people to persuade me out of it.

I do want it BUT not if it's going to be a pain in the **** car that I'm going to hate after a while.

i had a test ride in a e63 bi turbo last Sunday, and OMG! lol Rapid, quick, ballistic doesnt ever come close lol

Drive them both. I love both massively.

However I find the S models gearchanges poor compared to the others particularly then S63 AMG. The S65 AMG is different kettle of fish.

Not a Mercedes but I wanted an S8 TFSi but went with the RS6 instead. It was a better car though not as nicely finished.....

It's got to be the S65.

You can't be a million miles off with an S63 in terms of costs and the S65 is and always will be the daddy of the two...

If you are going to do it - do it properly!

Have a read of this , I have many times , everytime I want one more !

My fat barge - S65 AMG review - PistonHeads

Just do it, whats the worst can happen, you lose a few £££ if its not for you.. Just double down on making sure you get a nice one...

I've read that a few times and it makes me just want to buy one straight away

Yup that's my line of thinking, Go Big or Go Home

IMO the S65 amg is one of the best cars ever made, it just ticks every box whatever mood you're in. Very fast, very comfortable, well equipped, sounds good, looks good, what else do you need...

Only other car you might want in the garage is a driver focused open top car like a Caterham..

And it's got more power than an SLS...

On the road price from £183,065.00

F***!

That was exactly my line of thought! Wow :/

I have and found it very frustrating. The car is too big to hustle and too sporty to waft. And you can't use the performance properly in this country. Below 100mph it will flash the TC light on WOT but the way it carries on from there is bonkers. I wouldn't bother personally.

Thank you this is exactly what I felt might have been the case :thumb:

It's a fair point actually. I suppose I sometimes think the E could do with being a bit lighter (say 200/300 kilos) and it would be perfect.

S is what, 2.2 metric tons?

I guess with the S65, it is the straight line performance and ultimate prestige you are paying for rather than the sporting prowess and handling.

Mine in comfort suspension mode is very limo-like - I'm surprise the S65 isn't similar or better - but then I guess it depends on how one defines ride comfort...

Trouble is with a car like this , do those imperfections lessen the lust

Mmmm........easy to define.
How about a face down Norwegian Women's Handball player :dk:
