About 35 years ago...and, as a student, I didn’t have the money

Even 35 years ago I think I would have seen the investment potential in that. And begged stolen or borrowed to make it happen.

I was 15 years old then and had already done a lot of research into numbers plates.....bit sad that way .

I see at least half a dozen Pimlico Plumbers vans everyday and their reg plates are very well known but today I saw one that I thought was very cool.

40 YRS. They are celebrating 40 years of being in business with a specially liveried van.

Saw this when I saw the all the ferrari on their outing, I also saw it on the Monaco documentary on TV.

Crikey, that was a good buy.

XLR8 was for sale when I was 17, it was £1000 if I remember right. I had just bought the registration number which I still use on my main car and thought it a bit over the top to buy another straight away. I don’t regret it but I do sometimes think it would be nice to have.

So he’s been dead a long time now so I wonder where it is.

I read in a subsequent post from the same search that it had "since changed hands".

So who knows... maybe MB do own the right to use it now!

Saying that, it's now on a 22 year old purple Roller which is not taxed or tested so maybe not.
